IMHO the top 5 all failed, none of them seems to have the ability to hang around and keep their wicket in tact. Oh for Joe Root.

Edit I appreciate we have very different views on Englands batting. I hope we come good in the super 8’s, assuming we get there!

I won't argue with Root! I'd have him in the T20 side without a question. His ability to rotate the strike and adapt to conditions makes him a class player in all formats and could easily be the glue to enable others to take more risks. Teams are more interested in quick fire 30-40s than 50 off 40 deliveries these days though.

I don't disagree the top 5 failed today, but they'll point to the team's score and say they were vindicated in their approach. The Aussies came out firing and set the side up really nicely, then lost a few wickets and the momentum changes. That's why people love T20 cricket, even if it seems done there's still a glimmer of hope! See West Indies v England from the final in 2016 for more information.

Good watch this the Aussies getting smashed but a couple of quick wickets will change it! If Aussies lose will they be out?

Nisssnka 7 fours and 1 six, something to be said for not trying to hit too many good balls for 6

Didn't you delete a post calling him a **** for dropping the game for Sri Lanka? Was it after his superb catch a few balls later to make up for it? ;) We've all done it so not a dig!

Brilliant innings Nissanka. McCullum should get our top order to watch the whole innings, but there’ll probably be having a few beers tonight and playing golf tomorrow #arrogance

I deleted the post cos the guy was out 2 balls later so it no longer seemed relevant. Pretty sure I didn’t call him a **** (I don’t think)

Super 8 seeding is below. The "x" teams form one group, the "y" the other. Top 2 go to semi finals. If any of the 8 do not qualify, the team that does from its initial group takes its place. Teams in bold have qualified.

X1 India, X2 Australia, X3 West Indies, X4 South Africa
Y1 England
, Y2 New Zealand, Y3 Pakistan, Y4 Sri Lanka
