Atmosphere Thread | 2025/26

The TNT comm and Hoddle digressed from talking about the match to inform us at length what wonderful fans Newcastle have and how amazing it was that they travelled 5 hrs to Azerbaijan.

They’re second only to the dippers in the media’s completely baseless wank table of wonderful fans
Agreed. Another myth. Never heard them apart from when they cheered their goal.

There was a debate about whether 12.30 kos were better than 8 o’clocks on the pre match thread. Unbelievable. Hungover silence over well oiled noise.
Absolutely no debate whatsoever for me. I missed tonight due to illness and I’m gutted as it sounded great on TV and my match going buddy was quick to inform me how much better it was tonight. Pep’s after match comments confirmed it too.

We were bang on it tonight. Fans turned up and so did the players. When something is on the line and we come together, its as good as anywhere else in the country. Impossible to replicate or force it when the outcome of the game doesn't have much if any impact.

Newcastle fans were decently loud but that was the most small time i've heard their lot sound. Singing about empty seats 10 minutes before kick off and again a few minutes either side of halftime when any match going fan knows full well why, was just pathetic.

52,187 is a great turn out

There were some Newcastle fans in half empty rows in the away end, singing about empty seats. Which made me laugh.

Take it there were no problems with the acoustics tonight?
I understand that certain games naturally create a better atmosphere than others; this has always been the case and will continue to be so. However, the stadium's acoustics are poor, and anything that can help improve the atmosphere, particularly during games where it is naturally quieter, should be considered.

My 4th visit of the season, and by far the best atmosphere. One complaint, the announcer reading the teams out before the game. It's like Clattenburg on Gladiators, cringey.

What’s the AAFC flag in the South Stand
2

Manchester City Logo and symbol, meaning, history, PNG, brand
AAFC refers to Ardwick Association Football Club, the name Manchester City used from 1887 to 1894 before adopting their current name. Based in the Ardwick area of Manchester, the club was a predecessor to the modern Manchester City FC, which was founded officially in 1894 after financial reorganization.

It’s a perfect ko time, many have had a relaxing few drinks beforehand,
Also, negates a lot of issues getting there or leaving early for work, school etc.
Debating it at half time, I asked the question, where would you rather be on a Sat evening…

The atmosphere was much improved last night.!We just need one or two more belters like they have in Scotland. Such as Penny Arcade, Ibroxonia, all we need is Claudio Braga.

I was in the Managers Corner last night and atmospheres sounded totally different from usual place in 123 (now 023). No wonder people get different impressions.

Traffic after the Coop concert was a nightmare. The only downside of the 8.00pm

Singing section huh.
Kippax corner, yeh right.

CB3 is the place to be. We were monsters tonight (apart from the 2 ignorant tourists who spent the entire match filming)
I'm proud to say little old me, 68 on Friday, got a chant going. If 1894 want to relocate to near me, you'll just have to join the waiting list.
I'm up there too!
