US & Israel attack Iran

That’s true, but it would also be a mistake to think that the entire country was as Westernised. It’s a vast country whose population then was largely rural, poor, and deeply religious.
One thing is for sure that this area was more peaceful until oil was discovered. Once big business got involved it was a death sentence for many of the people who lived there.

Democracy, freedom - you know, what we in the west take for granted.
We really shouldn't
Hmmm. So Iran will be the first democratic country in the Middle East, all thanks to Trump and his Israeli paymasters. Wow.

Only another 13? to go and we will have freedom for all.
Wow what a time to be alive.
That said, can you remind me when the Syrian/Iraqi general elections are being held.

If Iran became a democracy tomorrow, it wouldn’t be the first one.

Israel is one, as is/has been Lebanon.

He didn’t say it was, he said that’s what ordinary Iranians might rise up to try and achieve.
Correct. it'll be what the Free Iranians themselves decide. They could turn around and say 'thanks America...but no thanks' and choose their own path. The fact is, which many shills on here fail to observe, is that it will be THEIR choice, and the World Community must make sure every step is taken so that happens, that it is fair and free from intolerance, coercion, intimidation and violence.

Have a hunch that all our resident neo-cons and war horny liberal interventionists are those types that claim to have been against the Iraq war while at the time they swallowed the propaganda.

I think it's probably likely that there is no plan from the US/Israel for 'what now'.

Who's going to organise a country 6 times the size of the UK with about 90 million people with all sorts of traditions?

It also looks clear that there is no point believing anything Trump says. A day or two after negotiating which appears to be in bad faith given the statements that this has been planned for ages. Only last night he was claiming (and with what jurisdiction is anybody's guess that the Republican Guard will all be absolved.

They chose a socialist leader once. BP didn't like it and we sent paratroopers in. I believe you are being genuine in your desires for the Iranian people but I think it's naive to think the US will ever allow any government that is not in their and Israel's interests.

Was it? The nineteenth century was already rather tumultuous for Persia/Iran.

Iran will just fracture, they are tribalistic and splits in religion. Trump telling them to rise up has echoes of Bush senior with the Kurds and Saddam slaughtered them. They may have killed the leadership but there will be cunts in waiting who won’t want to give up their power over the people because they know they’ll be hung in the streets for what they’ve done to ordinary people.

Now that’s a typo. ;-)

And when the price of oil rockets it will be party time at the big oil companies aka Trump backers, surely a coincidence….

There’s not a single person that’s openly supported this attack. The difference is, you and your mate are defending the Iranian regime, Islamic extremism and blaming the West and Israel for the entire shit, as per usual.

You’ve also mischaracterised several posts in a row, on purpose, calling people idiots for saying stuff, that they actually didn’t say.

The US government are cunts, the Israeli government are bigger cunts and Iranian government are also bigger cunts.

You and your pal only criticise two of them.

That would be my concern. What happens if it gets violent?

So shouldn't the world community step in now and ensure the people get the freedom that many tens of thousands have been executed by this very regime for advocating?

We all want sovereignty and peace for Ukraine, we all want recognition and self-determination for Palestine. Why do the Iranians seem to get overlooked? One major obstacle has been removed in that situation. I'm not about to praise Israel or the US for doing it. For me that's not the takeaway from this situation.
The figurehead of the regime is gone, after ONE day's aggression. It should make the rest of his regime shit themselves. The UN and all it's members now should focus of stabalising the region.
