Leeds United (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

It appears the issue was the time added on. I must admit to being surprised when the ref blew up dead on time - we're all accustomed to seeing another 2 or 3 mins added on top of the added time. I think the ref showed the red very quickly to their manager.
It was a very quick red card.
Wonder what the odds were for that...

100%. There is one word for it and we all know what that it. Shameful behaviour. But there are fans here justifying the booing, ‘keep religion away from sport’ and totally forgetting our roots as a club - set up by a church.
And it took a miners strike and blackouts to get us playing on Sundays.

No mate they will lead on the Leeds fans booing a Ramadan break. I really, really object to any interference with football from either religious or political perspective though. Before anyone replies with "they've been fasting all day", well that's their choice and should not impact on a game of football which should be neutral for all people to watch.

So you would rather Marmoush Cherki and Ait-Nouri played a full half of a Premier League away without taking on any fluids all day because you can't stand to bear anything related to Islam for 5 minutes even if clearly helped City. You support a team owned by Muslims, deal with it.

Did you come on here and cry when we had the water breaks for hot weather aswell or is it only a problem for you when our players observe Ramadan?

Am I missing something? Why does he take off Marmoush every single game? The lad puts a shift in. And today replaces him with Savinho, ffs. Makes no sense whatsoever. Still, a hard fought three points.

Not his worst game today, but he just isn’t present enough in games.

Don’t think we will see him past the summer.
He's the new Alvarez. Gets too few minutes when Haaland is fit and seems to contribute little when he's given a chance.
Semenyo seems to offer far more alongside Haaland, and also when Haaland is injured.

I think we are finding a bit of form, I just dont think we have a proper leader on the pitch, I think we need to find another vinny or zabba
It's not about a leader. We have them. What we need is a super dangerous playmaker that most of our attacks go through, like Kev.
Cherki is a brilliant playmaker and he could become intrinsic to our success this season.
We just need players like moosh and nor and bernardo to know when to expect and anticipate the through ball. We are not as proficient at probing through balls as we were, once we are, opposing teams will fear us again.

What did he actually get the red for because the card was already out before he stormed up to the ref.
The card being out so quickly implies the fourth official had told the ref Farke had been acting like an arse and to expect him to continue after the final whistle.
Alternatively Farke was channelling his inner Kevin Horlock and walking very aggressively. Had a crap view at Dean Court that day so didn't have a clue why Super Kev was sent off.

To a point. He’s not as good as Alvarez for me. I get the sentiment though.

Semenyo is almost anti city in that he’s a proper outcomes player.

Not great on the eye, has being fairly poor in some games, but he’s get it done.

That was another Sunderland away last night without him.

Religious observance doesn't seem to come into the equation when the Pakistani cricket team play during Ramadan as the players take on water and food during the days play. Why should football be any different?
It’s just theatre.

If your thirsty slip off and have a quick drink, like 100’s of pros do every sat.

Football simply won’t learn its lessons about religion and politics.

Love the way Cherki plays. He sees a good pass the likes of me can’t, and executes them !! Love away games, we battled. Well done city.

I agree it's a bit confusing. I coach a lad of Pakistan roots and he told me there's an exemption if you are representing your country and can do it later. That's the jist of it anyway.

The kind of game that wins titles.some great performances from dias, guehi, rodri, bernado, cherki to name.a.few.infact not one player had a bad.game which was pleasing.
Chelsea always give Arsenal a tough game so let's hope they do the business today.

The Bernardo one is a great to example.

Clear foul, he signals the Leeds player wins the ball, then gives Leeds a throw
