26 | Savinho - 2025/26

I think Pep is being one stubborn bastard where Savinho is concerned. Plenty of times he never uses a returning sub but today away at a tough ground with only a one goal lead he brings a player straight back in, possibly low in confidence from before and known to be a bit of a soft arse player. Pep has told us many times he thinks Sav will become a great player. Fair enough if thats his opinion but not for the detriment of the team. In my opinion hes utter tripe and with Marmoush it's like playing with 10 men when one of them is on the pitch especially away from home.

Wrong position. Came on during Leeds push but that doesn’t count. He needs to go 10/10 dribblers with a hatty and also score with his left, right and head to survive this place.

He is good player, still not convinced but unless we got a huge offer in the summer I would give him another season to prove his worth. That said, I think Doku and Semenyo have taken him out of the first team squad.

Did absolutely nothing wrong. barely touched it but that wasn't down to him, our whole forward line barely touched it the entire time he was on the pitch. He chased and harried, did some good defensive work late on, it's not a great contribution but he couldn't have done anything more than what he did.

Here is where the personal bias shines through brightly if your opinion of his contribution today is anything drastically different to, "did his job, was fine"

He never should have came on today, we were only 1-0 up and we were under a bit of pressure so it was the wrong substitute, I also thought Marmoush was working hard off the ball.

Savinho is absolutely bobbins.
I'm guessing he took Marmoush off to save him for the Forest match. Doku probably not fully fit and Foden isn't pulling up trees at the moment.

I’m far from being a fan of Savinho but come on ….the player has been out for a couple of months and is bound to be a little rusty.

Whether the substitution worked is a different conversation but it was obvious that Pep was hoping that a bit of pace could catch Leeds on the break and wanted someone who could run with and carry the ball.

I really don’t get the hate for any player in a blue shirt.

Like many I am underwhelmed by Savinho. Must be showing something in training we are not seeing on match day. Keep hoping he proves me wrong and yesterday he did make an important tackle towards the end (don’t think he did anything wrong when he came on ). Just doesn’t produce.

When the opposition were having those corners at the end why the fuck doesn't he hang on the half way line and give us an out ball as hes doing nothing defensively anyway. Not the Guardiola way apparently but it should be .
I don’t understand why when we’re under pressure from corners, why we don’t have two or three of our players on the field at the time, sat at the half way line? It would give the opposing team something to think about.
