They've not proposed open borders. They would ideally like a world without borders but in practice, they want fairer, more humane treatment of people who seek asylum in the UK.

As for Trident, we're not even in control of it, and the cost to us for an unreliable ally in Trump is more of a hindrance than a boon.

It's not Green policy to have open borders FWIW. This is their official policy -

We propose a system of managed migration, with visas and rules. This will enable us towelcome migrants to the UK and treat them with dignity, and to also not dismantle the system of control in case we need to restrict movement in the future for whatever reason.

We are witnessing what the western media have always done.
They will attack Zack Polanski at every turn because he is a threat to them.
They did the same with Jeremy Corbyn.
Why wouldn't he be: they are owned by non-doms through complex trust arrangements or by Dubai investment groups. His focus on billionaires and tax is a hindrance.
They will try and attack him based on sectarianism. They will create a pro-Islam/anti-Islam narrative and simplistically encourage the electorate into one box or the other.
Unsurprisingly, one can support human beings in their fight for equality and peace regardless of their religion.
