Real Madrid (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

He'll go on a free next Summer. Nobody is taking that risk. He's 5 yards off the pace.
he’ll re-sign with his injury issues on top whack i bet rather than wind down and risk a relapse of the knee injury and being out of contract. always assumed hes an athletic madrid fan as well so he aint going real. where else is he going to go.

If we put our chances away in the first half it would have been another story but the sucker punch of the first goal straight after made too many heads drop. Not enough bravery in the team to rally them on. Thought haaland and Semenyo were both shite. Rodri was poor but also exposed. Like someone else had said I remember when Mancini and then Pellers were getting rinsed for not putting at least a two man midfield in Europe or you get cut apart. Pep should have stuck with the Newcastle side

You could argue that but Real should have killed it off in the 2nd half. Valverde the difference though as usual we haven't helped ourselves. That first goal gave them confidence. We need to be more clinical.
Second leg prediction, we will be 2 up at half time then produce our usual second half performance and lose 3-2.

The only glimmers of hope.
We could or should have scored 3.
Away goals are irrelevant.
Doku sensational.....and shit
He might drop Erling and play Omar, Cherki, Nico G.
Real are pretty shit.....but so are we.

Playing a high line away in Madrid was just nuts.

Yeah, I was one of those tbh. On paper it looked like an exciting, dynamic attacking line-up. In reality, we were completely overrun in midfield and the front four offered virtually nothing. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, of course.

To be fair any manager can get the starting line up wrong. The worst part is, it was obvious quite quickly, but Pep didn't react until it was too late. Putting Reijnders on as the only sub at half time was a pisstake.

We looked loads better when he put the other subs on, but it was too late by then.

It's a bit of a long shot, but get an early goal at home, and the comeback is absolutely still on.
yes agreed, only thing we can do is concentrate and get an early goal, then try and level up the tie and take it from there, we could have done with at least a goal tonight as at 2 goals in it i would seriously fancy us to turn it around on the night

Just unfeckinbelievable. The worst Real Madrid team in living memory and we were 3 down at half time.

My wife is more a full back than NOR, and as for that lanky Italian streak of piss in net, well God help us.

Savinho was his usual guaranteed dogshit, whilst Semenyo might as well have not been there.

And then there is Haaland, just how fuckin ineffective is he. He is just absolutely 100% shite. He offers less than nothing. Every time I see his name in the line up you know we are playing with 10 men.

I've seen some pitiful and unexplainable City performances in many decades of watching City, but Jesus, that was the most dreadful I've ever seen.

Just WTF must have Cherki and Marmoush have been thinking have have as they watched that dross.

In short, Guardiola, it's time to go.
What utter dog shit you speak

How many are seeing it now?

Squad doesnt have the quality or balance...the systems of two central upfront doesnt work and with t e two we have never will.

Our wide players arent good enough and our midfield is trying to pretend Rodri is like he was before his injury and Bernardo is as he was 5 years ago.

Playing a high line with Dias at centre half is suicidal and not buying two left backs in the summer and at least a right back to push Nunes was only going to go one way as predicted.

we have a squad packed full of players who overall are 6 out of 10 t max and a few a bit higher.....and one or two a lot lower.

If Reijnders and Sav, rico lewis are here next season you can forget winning anything as we are automatically three players down in a list of are they good enough or not....its not just about tonight its the bigger picture.

Fail to but at least one right back to push Nunes and one left back to push RAN and again we will have an issue

We are getting what the clubs transfer policy in the last couple of years has deserved.

the longer you leave it...the longer the journey back to the top and its now a fucking long way off already....

The usual menopausal mob out in force tonight following a loss.

The bottom line tonight is we had about 5/6 chances and didn’t take any of them.

Those cunts took theirs.

At this level if that happens you get beat.

I will say though that Haaland was unacceptably poor and has been bang average for a long time now. Not sure what we do about that tbh.
They were out in force before the draw was even drawn. They’ve been out in force for far too long. Spoilt bastards.
