Real Madrid (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

If half of our players were as consistent as I am, we'd do the quadruple this season.

I speak as I find. Whether or not you agree matters not one jot to me. Like me, you're just another punter voicing opinions on a football forum. Don't put yourself up as a 'top fan' just because you like the owners and coach.

A typical and not unexpected childish response. The " top fan" comment is your throwaway and peevish/ spoilt child outburst, with classic dummy spitting exercise thrown in for good measure.

And you are one very regular punter who rarely has anything positive to add to the forum, especially where the manager is concerned.

But you and your bestie, the totally miserable and negative Connell, are a perfect pairing, and clearly aligned in negativity. He's on ignore because he's so fucking predictable.

But of course you have the right to express your opinions on the forum ........................

I can see a valiant effort, probably go 2 up and then get caught on the break. Can't see a world that we keep a clean sheet to them.
Were away goals still a thing I’d say them scoring next week would be game over. It’s not though so a 4-1 then pens or a 5-1 isn’t quite beyond us. Unlikely but not impossible.

Very difficult to know what is the best course of action.
No easy opposition coming up.
See how we fare against West Ham and hope arsenal drop points this weekend. That might put a different perspective on things.
I think we need to go all out in the Carabao final.
Neither arsenal or ourselves are great shakes at the moment.
At least we'll have an early trophy and arsenal can't do the quadruple.
Madrid match is just pure gamble and an early goal might shake them but I don't hold out any confidence that we won't concede
The away goals rule our enemy in the past not present gives us some hope. I think its crucial to score first of course and create good chances to score more. The tie is not dead yet but we will probably need 4 goals to take it to ET and penos. Not likely and it might be worth focusing on the gooners instead.

To be honest guys, we should try to believe that we can change this catastrophic result, we need to support in a massive way to our boys. They only need to forget the last result and we should give extra forces next week. All the entire man city universe must be more united than ever and support them until tha last second.
That energy is what characterizes great teams like Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern, etc. This is a test of our mentality.

Spot on,but we’ll come out all guns blazing then after 15-20 minutes they’ll catch us on the counter and that’ll be that..probably end in a draw 2-2 or a 3-2 to us ..

How many people genuinely think we're going to turn this around?

Zero chance. When we were at our peak we only scored four against them. It would have been more but for Courtois but this team and squad are miles off the treble winning one. That first leg was 1-1 too so.we didn't have to go gung ho. Firstly I can't see us scoring three never mind four and there is no chance they won't score. The tie is dead and buried and no amount of "That's the spirit" comments will change that.

We were lucky to get away with just a three goal deficit , it could easily have been five or six , incredulous that Pep could get it so wrong , and to not even acknowledge this after the game , still havent got a clue what he was trying to do or his tactics and it didnt look like the players knew either.
Cherki Marmoush Art Nouri and Nunes have been in good form recently and all of them sat on their arses on the bench , just a very strange selection and set up , hope its out of Pep's system and we play our strongest eleven and tactics against West Ham , we dont win that game then the Goons can book the open top bus.

Spot on Paul but you’ll be accused of being negative instead of being a realist,we’d love nothing more than to smash these fuckers 3-0 up and late into injury time and a forth for us of course we can dream but it’s highly improbable..

the markets have Madrid at quite a lowly 83% to qualify. I'm behind City all the way next Tuesday, but 17% chance of qualifying is optimistic!

Thing is we need to go for it and the team he put out last night was him going for it and it royally back fired. Will Madrid have Mbappe and Bellend back, would they even risk them been 3 up?

Valverde is the best right sided player on the planet whether RB or right side midfield. His versatility means he's also colossal through the middle. But we seemed happy to let him do what he wanted whereas when Doku attacked he had three defenders marking him..............
i dont think we had three defenders in our half at first goal never mind making life difficult

im sure pep had some difficult questions to answer last night

Exactly how it should be. He's not infallible and pretty sure that he doesn't believe that he is.

Any game where performances, tactics and outcome is clearly not as expected should be subject to analysis and review.

I suspect quite a lot of sleep was missed within the club.

The CL may well be beyond the club now, but there is still plenty to be achieved if the resolve remains.
