9 | Erling Haaland - 2025/26

You quoted low block but want a definition? Or are you playing games?. If you actually want a detailed description check out Google because im not wasting my time on a rather obvious ploy, sorry i'm just not as daft as you think I am.
If you dont accept we have played against low blocks for a sustained period of time thats fine, you're wrong but its your opinion.
I've had enough of bad faith posting for one
You posted the term low block initially. There’s no need for the curt response. I thought I was being rather polite and was asking in good faith, no ploy was meant from my part, why would I do that. I’m not one of those posters on here who like to cause an argument in an empty room. There’s so many fan dangled terms in modern day football these days, I just don’t understand the terminology. I will use google then, thank you.

Maybe so but reading this thread there is a growing consensus that it might be a good idea to send him on his way. Talks with Barca, if taking place, would almost certainly involve some sort of player exchange which might make a deal affordable for them.
Which players would you take though. Would they sell us Pedri?

the quality of chances we are creating isnt there, neither is the volume....we have gone from KDB, Gundo and foden playing at his peak to nothing in the creative department.

This narrative around Haaland is weird...he hasnt got worse season by season....the league has got harder, teams work to nullify him mre and more importantly our supply to him has got drastically worse.

Haaland was NEVER an aguero type that could conjour something out of nothing.

Semenyo is equally guilty but cause he is new is getting away with some absolute dire performances.

people seem to want to shit on certain players when infact the whole team bar none are playing absolute dog shit and have for most of the season (which some also failed to recognise for long periods of time)

The likes fo Savio, Reijnders are a fucking joke ...they are so below what is needed it is untrue.....Foden has fallen off a cliff for some reason (but there is no doubting the talent is there unlike the previous two mentioned) and Bernardo aint he player he was, Cherki -IM sorry he has talent but again seems to get away with some very hit and miss performances...flashes of brilliance and then times int he game where he disappears for 20 mins and/or loses the ball continuously.

And again what people wont admit is that since Pep changed the system to two uptop this is also drastically affecting the way Haaland can play - he has even less space due to an extra forward being there meaning an extra defender as well...most teams are lining up like madrid did last night with 6 across the back now....its only when teams likeNewcastle (cause they are at home) come out an attack that their is the space.

Everyone crying out for Marmoush last night (who i really like btw) - but look at his goal record....half of the goals he has scored have come against one team...Newcastle...cause they come out and regardless try and attack us every time we play them...there is so much space.

The problem isnt Haaland...the problem is a distinct lack of quality in the team overall and the way the team is set up
I’m as guilty as the next for complaining about haaland but you make good points
With this post.

My apologies for getting the wrong end of the stick, I feel suitably embarrassed by it. Feel free to call me a cock at your convenience without any protest on my behalf.

I won’t do that, so long as we’re friends and blues together.

We dont create chances for him but...
  • He's had the most shots in the league(98), 30 more than 2nd.
  • 3.5 shots per game, same as he had in 22/23
  • Most goals in the league
  • Missed more big chances than he's scored goals(24). Also that's most in league by 9.
  • Most touches in the opposition box(163) not like he carries it there himself?

I don’t want to sound reactionary(but I’ve had a beer so here goes) - Calvert-Lewin would be disappointed with this recent goal return/performance. Bellyaching about service just doesn’t cut it - I’m obviously not saying sell him but he has to do more/impact the opposition

Just looking at the recent games...I would suggest that just getting the ball to him would be a start. The next would be pass and move at a pace along with pressing. Not that Guardiola does not want that, but it just seems a bit stale with him playing favourites performing nothing special no matter what. I did not see a very bad performance from him the first 20 minutes in Madrid. It seemed like the team was a bit too inexperienced and succumbed to the pressure once Madrid were ahead. It is not very hard; let the opposition have more of the ball and have more hard workers on the pitch.

Hopefully he’ll get the much needed rest everyone keeps blathering on about.

Hes a million miles from being a starter at the mo.
I dont overly rate marmoush but id 100% give him a run of games now as haaland is providing zero to the team

No matter if he goes into the six yard box, pulls back or makes runs we just can't get the ball to him. We are so poor at creating.
Just a couple of very good crosses at the end where he didn't get anywhere near them because he's hiding behind their defenders.

Have you ever seen a 6ft5 midget before ? well that's him in 2026.
