For me, this is a critical game not just for the obvious reasons but for our potential future success.

Arsenal have won fuck all under Arteta and that's used as a stick to beat them with. The longer the drought continues the more it impacts the mindset. They'll probably end that drought this season, but it's taken 5 years.

We've lost the past two FA Cup finals, and so many of this squad haven't won anything with us, or at their previous clubs. The league cup will serve as a catalyst for us to push on. It gives them the taste of success, the confidence to know they can win things and is a platform for the future of this team.

We won bugger all last season.

We simply havent turned up at all in the last 2 Cup finals weve played in.

Haaland has never scored at Wembley; its about time he manned up, showed up and turned in a performance their too.

30 odd thousand of us are making the trip down there at the weekend. Itd be a much more enjoyable experience and day if we actually see City win something again, as the Pep era draws towards its end.

Big Erl turned in a performance in the first and most important rags final.

I’ll never forget him battling like fuck to win a throw in late in injury time right in front of where we were sat then turning to acknowledge the crowd, emotion and fatigue etched on his face.

Hence why this is a critical final. The rag final we lost wasn't as relevant. Last year we had plenty of new players involved and they lost. Lose this one and that tag Arsenal have carried for a long time can start being applied to us. Do we have the bottle we used to?

Win it and it can mark the start of a new period of success. The first trophy is always the hardest to win.

For the player he is, the profile he is and how much we lean on him call me demanding if you want but I expect a little bit more than winning a late throw in, in a Wembley Cup final. A goal or 2 under the Arch for once wouldnt go amiss and seeing as hes been largely awol for 3 months now sunday would be a decent time for him to start banging goals in again.

It obviously wasn’t just the thrown in. That little vignette encapsulated the way he led the line superbly that day.

He’s not been awol, certainly not against Newcastle where he turned in one of the best all round centre forward performances in years. Hes in a slump is all it is.

I hope we win and that kick starts our remaining games, the trouble with winning is as seen numerous times whoever wins they go missing for the rest of the season.

Apart from The Green Man, what are other City pubs?
