Pep to leave at the end of the season

Won everything there is to win in the game as player. Played under top managers, Job hes done at como nothing short of amazing(not advocating for him to come, id prefer Enrique) Whats difference between Maresca and Scott Parker other than one being Peps Mate?

How did choosing your successor work out for the scum across the road?
What you won as a player is irrelevant, and who you played under. Ill give you a hundred examples of that.

You don't manage a team like Como where all the players are in awe of you and are riding the wave of some success and then follow the greatest manager of all time, he would be gone inside 6mths.

If you think the downfall of the rags was because GPC picked Moyes then you are looking at the wrong thing.

Can anyone make a convincing argument for a club looking to win multiple trophies per year signing Maresca?
He has already won several as a manager and player?
What sort of fucking bollocks is this?

1) So having a statue makes it a non-starter?
2) Spent many years in Germany? He played for Hamburg for a grand total of 2 years before joining us
3) He might not follow Pep but why wouldn't he come back one day to the club that he has a particular fondness for?
Yes
Many, couple, several, short stint, whatever word you want to use mate.
I dont believe he wants to, people are talking like hes managing Bolton and he would be desperate for a move to City.

Took over as manager at Como after they got promoted to Serie A, finished 10th last season, currently 4th this season.

They play attacking possession football and Fabregas as a name probably carries more respect than Maresca.

It may be a little soon for him, but he's doing well and on the way up. Kompany got the Bayern job based on less results-wise - but Bayern recognised the style would be a fit for them. Maybe Fabregas would be a good fit for us, I don't know. I expect he will go to a different big club in a year or so though and do pretty well.
You could put together a hundred names of managers who had a stint of doing great at X, Y and Z before they get a big move and it all collapses. Completely different ball game managing Como never mind in the shite Serie A league compared to City.

Well they have discovered their next best in the world now................

VK's contract ends June 2029, and I expect we want him then. That would mean if we got a new manager this summer it'd be for 3 years - that feels an awkward length, as it's probably too long for an interim type manager, but too short for getting a top appointment.

If Pep stays another year or two, then perhaps things are a little different, but maybe Maresca is as good as we can hope for a short-term job.

Maresca the new Pellegrini?

It was always going to be a challenge convincing a top coach to want to follow on directly from Pep.

You could yeah, so there are other intangibles that come into it.

He wouldn't be my first choice because I haven't watched Como at all, but if the guys at the top do their due diligence and decide to pick him, I could understand it.

Arsenal are doing ok with Arteta now and he had literally no managerial experience. Sometimes a manager can be right for the club regardless, but it's obviously the club's job to work that out.

Maybe he knows the club the set up some of the players. He did a decent job at Chelsea! Oh no one who comes will come close to pep so going after someone like him with him being familiar with us that’s some sort of positive!

We are still in with a chance of winning up to 3 trophies.

We still have a third of the season to play, under our greatest ever manager, who has recently been defending this club to the hilt.

He still has a further year left, and despite speculation on his, which has been constant since the day he arrived, there has been no real mention of this being his last season.

He's not getting sacked any time soon, not a chance.

Why so much discussion on his replacements?

I just don’t see Pep going anywhere, even after next season i can see him extending further…wether thats good news or not i don’t know.

Pretty sure he left his role at New Mills after just a handful of games and getting hammered 6-0 every week.
He was assistant at New Mills, but has done nothing to suggest he deserves another go at NWC level.

Martín Demichelis would have had more chance if he impresses in his new role.

Fills the time...
