Sir Keir Starmer

I think a lot of the crticism has been over the top and promoted by disingenuous media.

But he can fuck off now, was barely getting a pass mark on Iran, now he can fuck off.

Spineless ****.
I’ve been ambivalent about him for some time now, but I’ve always thought he’s a decent bloke at the heart of it.

But he can fuck off supporting anything that specimen demands we do as a country.

Defending our own, and our allies I get. But this is supporting the offensive. It’s completely different in my eyes.

Trump should be made to deal with the consequences of his actions.

How can he be a decent bloke? Gaza and Mandleson? He’s not far off being as big a **** as Blair without being as good at bullshitting.

Yep. Horrible bastard. I just dont get it, He even mentioned at PMQ's how he'd done the right and the public was overwhelmingly on his side, which they were. To also allow it to happen after Trump's been humiliating him publicly is even worse.

We need someone who will stand up to this fucking bully.
The problem is who? it constantly feels like he's dancing on the head of a pin-he knows we rely on america so much-for pretty much everything and he has the MSM constantly undermining anything he does in order to push a right wing narrative..

I wish he'd be stronger in his position with this-the overwhelming majority of the public want nothing to do with this war-and it did feel like this was his opportunity to change people's opinion of him..

Whilst I agree with the sentiment of loving the yanks to go it alone .
Starmer has in the main fallen into line in conjunction with our main European allies .
Money will always talk and our economy is well and truly fucked without a quick resolution .

Yep. Some people don’t understand the concept of realpolitik, where unpopular choices need to be made for the long term benefit of the country.

The two wrong answers are going into the conflict with our own attacks alongside the Yanks/Israel, and then obviously siding with Iran. Everything in between is about getting the balance right and it will remain to be seen if the allowing of this further base to be used is still the right path to go down.

I think people on this forum naively don’t realise the pressure he’s under to protect our bases, our allies in the region and to try and do something to stop the impending economic turmoil with the Strait being closed. It’s easy to backseat drive in this scenario and state the Spanish PM is doing it right, when Spain’s situation is completely different to ours: they don’t have permanent military bases in the Middle East, they’ve largely kept out of foreign conflicts there historically, over the past few decades (rightly I must add), and their ties to Middle Eastern countries as their allies, is less than ours is.

It’s much easier for Sanchez to tell Trump to completely fuck off than it is for Starmer. Don’t get me wrong, it is a source of pride for me every time Starmer does say no but he can’t do it every time. This recent decision will play out and if it goes wrong I’ll be the first to say so, not that anyone cares what I think.

If doing what benefits the UK is by getting involved in an illegal war then we have lost all moral authority. We are helping 2 very ugly countries with despicable leaders.
