If it’s Sunday, probably 4.30pm.
I’m hearing 17:15 Saturday for our game off a fairly reliable source within the railway who’s involved with the planning/safety. Don’t shoot the messenger.
Apparently 'they" whoever 'they' are.....are pushing for Sat, to do with Network Rail engineering being started or finished?

You can do it by yourself, it is a multi-agency approach and lots of different variables and risks to consider, so it isn't possible to do 48 what ifs.
But there is nothing to stop the FA from sounding out for all combinations beforehand and making a quick decision.

And forget the risks, they will have no real bearing on the decision. It's all down to horse trading between the TV companies. In the SF draw there are only three possible combinations as the order in which teams come out makes no impact for matches in neutral grounds.

How long does it take to work out 'lots of different variables and risks'?

There will always be a sat game and a sun game for the fa cup semi finals unless they change to have the games on separate weeks (this won’t happen)
The sat game will always be outside the 3-00 ko time for max tv exposure so ko time will be 5ish for the sat game. The sun game could be 2-00 to 4-30 ish ko
The big issue is TV picking games they want and agreeing with police
Once the ko sorted other games may move ie Southampton game on Tues could move to Wed if we play on sun
The last people to consider are the actual match going fans as the powers that be won’t look at the rail timetable or distance from wembley etc to make it better for those people
I will be going whenever the ko is as will most people I know but it does need a quicker decision
When the semi finals start the combination of games can easily be seen and even at qu final stage police can identify the few high risk games as in reality there are very few
We have played all top sides at Wembley in recent years and not many issues (rags semi prob worst)
Nothing we can do but hopefully get tickets on sale before wk end so trains can be booked or know if need a stop over of coach
to get there
Hopefully we can end season on positive note with a treble or a double but at least we got something out of season all ready which makes some FOC happy compared to the old 80’s and 90’s days
But they shouldn’t be moving Southampton’s game from the Tuesday. They play Ipswich and they’ve both got a real possibility of promotion (auto or play offs) with the last game of the Championship season being the following Saturday at 1230. Making Soton play Sunday early evening, Wednesday night and Saturday lunchtime seems like the very worst option for them.

3 combinations? For the ten minutes between the penalty shootout and the draw, that isn't the issue.

The tv companies have a contractual order of picks each round.

There were 48 combinations of possible draws on Saturday afternoon, and 1 by 7.30pm on Sunday - and they require multi-agency approval as to when they play. Public authorities aren't going to work though every possibility before hand, and it is ridiculous to think it would be considered.

City sold out. Chelsea didn’t. There were massive traffic problems on the M6 and people were still arriving at half time.
I went with the Wythenshawe branch.
My personal experience was….
Due to the traffic, we got to Villa park at half time.
After a few phone calls we were advised alcohol was not being sold/ran out, we fucked the game off and went to the pub near the ground which was full of other City fans.
I did not see 1 minute of the game but it was a great day on the piss with fellow blues!

And i got a ride that night as an added bonus

I doubt we will hear about the date/time until next week. I think I remember waiting and wondering about this in the past.

is it me am i being to logical, why are they only sorting the games out now, surely they could have gone through all permiataions before the QF. its 8 teams FFS an app on my phone could do that in less than 60 sec

On the Southampton Forum, they seem to think its sorted for 5.15 on the saturday ??
Someone on this thread said the same thing and that it was a pretty reliable source. I read elsewhere that a City fan said he'd heard 5.30 Saturday. Either way, there's next to no chatter about it being on the Sunday.

For selfish reasons, I want it to be on the Sunday as I'm flying back from the Canaries on the Saturday and only landing at around 6pm so not only can I not go, I'm going to miss watching most of it on the box! However, I also appreciate that a Saturday suits more of our fans than a Sunday and it'll be great to get as many of our fans down there as possible

With all these soft signals for saturday its gonna be sunday isnt it haha

Assuming a 5.15 KO on the Sat, it looks there are is a maximum of two trains departing after 8pm that get back to Manchester the same night from Euston After thats its part bus which gets you in the next morning.
