Chelsea (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Been away in Majorca (Cala d'or) the last week, found a huge bar to watch yesterday, it was outside but under cover, windy wet and cold (been sunny the whole week). Me and the missus were the only ones in in the first half, and by half time, I was feeling a bit sorry for the three staff who were keeping it open just so I could watch, and was thinking of going, then a young family came in just as the second half was starting. They sat down to watch, fully expected them to be supporting Chelsea, until we scored haha, and we all cheered.

Great display from the boys, Cherki, Nico, Mark, and Khus were brilliant, well the whole team were really, but they stood out most.

Great way to end a good holiday, especially after spurs lost.
What was the bar called? Im in Cala D'or cup final weekend and i know its a very family type resort and wondering if there are any livelier / sports bar type places?

Strangely Yaya was in the stands yesterday.....
Been thinking what O'Reilly will morph into as a player, it could be absolutely awesome. Already physically strong, seems to be cool and calm not letting shitbags ruffle him, ghosting into space to score. Imagine him with the wiseness and game management of Rodri or Berni. If he carries on Bellingham and Rogers won't stand a chance of the England spot. Good luck lad.

I said yesterday that we have the backbone of the new City team and if not this season, then the next season and 3 or 4 seasons after that, we will be champions again. So Pep must stay and 100% plant his status as the best manager in English football and world football.

The biggest game in the title race next week will sort out who will be the champions this season, City have been given the lifeline to still be in the race and must grab it with both hands next weekend

THIS CITY IS OURS

Lighten up fella, I’ve already told you he is a top Blue and follows City everywhere.
As for being desperate, he’s not the one trolling fellow Blues on this forum.
He was just trying to have a laugh,
By the way, he always wears the Foden shirt as he was Phil’s driver for a long time and still drives for his family.
Let him have his fun. It's not for me, but it's got fuck all to do with me how he wants to celebrate and piss around. He was enjoying himself and you could see him having a laugh with his lad when they saw the online reactions to it. I bet he's fucking buzzing today. Not my thing, but he was living his best life.

Cant remember sorry, but they advertise the games on a board outside. It was close to the hotel we are staying in (one of the Gavimar hotels).

As for other places, plenty in the centre, some will show football some won't, but wander around a few days before you'll find out.

City record under Pep after 31 games:

Season: Points, Final Points (Position)

16/17
: 61pts, 78pts (3rd)
17/18: 84pts, 100pts (1st)
18/19: 77pts, 98pts (1st)
19/20: 63pts, 81pts (2nd)
20/21: 74pts, 86pts (1st)
21/22: 74pts, 93pts (1st)
22/23: 73pts, 89pts (1st)
23/24: 70pts, 91pts (1st)
24/25: 52pts, 71pts (3rd)
25/26: 64pts, ??pts (???)

For the first time this season we're trending above both the 16/17 and 19/20 seasons at the same time.

In the 16/17 season, we got 17 points from our last 7 games. That would put us on 81 this year.
In the 17/18 season, we got 16 points from our last 7 games. That would put us on 80 this year.
In the 18/19 season, we got 21 points from our last 7 games. That would put us on 85 this year.
In the 19/20 season, we got 18 points from our last 7 games. That would put us on 82 this year.
In the 20/21 season, we got 12 points from our last 7 games. That would put us on 76 this year.
In the 21/22 season, we got 19 points from our last 7 games. That would put us on 83 this year.
In the 22/23 season, we got 16 points from our last 7 games. That would put us on 80 this year.
In the 23/24 season, we got 21 points from our last 7 games. That would put us on 85 this year.
In the 24/25 season, we got 19 points from our last 7 games. That would put us on 83 this year.

Apart from the 20/21 season - when we'd basically already won the league and took our eye off it to prepare for the CL final - we tend to finish with at least five wins and a draw once we've locked in (and sometimes more). I think, looking ahead, we'll finish on 83 points (6 wins, 1 draw). That means we have to beat Arsenal and hope they drop points in one more game to at least finish in front of them on goal difference.

Definitely doable.

Anyone still missing Cole Palmer ?

Morphing into a one season wonder.
I think most people have forgotten him.
Probably the worst club he could have gone to.
They turn up for things like the CWC but missing in the bread and butter of the Premier league
I posted earlier that I cannot understand the Palmer and Fodens drop off in form this season.
Gone from battling to be an England regukar to possibly one or both not even making the World Cup panel.

as I said on matchday thread, first half was a pre season and the real game starts in second half.

All too familiar pattern.

Was hungry, came out hot, big contract.

Next he's got a reality show and thinks he's big time before winning anything.

The curse of the talented young English footballer: from Gazza to Rashford and will keep on going.

That “fan” they kept showing, if he’s disabled, then it’s on the tv studio and it’s out of order showing him being weird. If he’s actually a grown man that took a bottle with the arsenal logo into the game, and then those shirts with messages on, our fan base is absolutely ruined by weirdos
And what the fuck makes you think that you are not a fucking weirdo yourself moaning about a fan on a forum .?
You do you and let him be him

Our defence has really improved in the last few months.
Khusanov is a big part of that, he has to start every game now. Dias can't get back near the team. Its who partners Khusanov now on the left side Guehi or Gvardiol when he's back.

Nunes and O'Reilly been excellent too this season

I'd go with Khusanov and Guehi. But I suspect that Dias is one of Pep's "go to" guys.

Yup. With a couple of decent purchases in the next window, we will be awesome.
