Players who might improve us

How good or bad are spurs players feels like half the squad have been thought of very positively yet they are doing rubbish.

I know a few on here have wanted people like Archie Gray. Is anyone actually any good. The fire sale will surely be insane
Archive Gray puts more effort into every game, than the rest of the Spuds players combined......but he's nowhere near good enough for anyone outside the bottom 3 teams. None of the others (currently fit) are much better ;)

If you want a former City player we might bring back, I'd suggest Maximo Perrone is a more likely candidate. One of the best defensive midfielders in Italy right now, 23, and if we end up bringing in 2/3 central midfielders they can't all be £80m+ like Anderson.

I assume we have a buyback clause. Inter are interested for about 30-40m. He's got that Alonso/Pirlo long passing technique we don't really have, think he'd be a very good addition especially if Nico G leaves.

Absolutely agree with this. He has been playing very well for Como. Perrone played well in his loan season there until he suffered a long term injury which put him back in his progress for a while. Despite the injury Como bought him from City, so that shows he did enough.

If talk of Gonzalez wanting more regular football becomes true, we could take Perrone.

From the BBC

Manchester City have sold midfielder Maximo Perrone to Italian side Como in a deal worth up to £13m.

The 22-year-old Argentine made only two senior appearances after joining City from Velez Sarafield for about £8m in January 2023.

It is understood the deal includes a 30% sell-on clause and a buy-back option for City.

We should get Nico Paz in return

I reckon the buyback will be at £30m like Traffords was, so £27m after the sell on clause.

Would be a great bit of business. Juve after him as well apparently, €40m+

Good shout as he is a top player. One problem may be game time, assuming we get Anderson and Rodri stays. Anderson rarely gets injured.

Juve, Napoli and Inter are all considering moving for Perrone this summer.

Como have been playing well and there is a chance they will qualify to play in the European comps. Como don’t want to lose him. Maybe we can do a deal where Perrone stay’s at Como while in the UEFA Comp and we get him in January if they go out.

Always liked the look of Angelo Stiller from Stuttgart. Seems to run games and is clever off the ball. Would suit our system down to the ground. I'm sure he is available for less than 35-40m this summer - alongside Anderson.

Enzo Fernandez. Would be absolutely brilliant next to Rodri.
You don’t need two controllers that are both not the most mobile and doesn’t win a lot of ground duels. Enzo is cool gets great numbers, strong leadership just doesn’t mask Rodri’s weaknesses imo

? Marmoush
? Reinders
? Nico G
All not used yesterday in the case of 2 and 3 Kova preferred

Then Lewis, Trafford, Akanji, Ake, Stones, Jack, Bernie all gone, not being used, or want out
Can see big money being spent in the Summer.

Nigo G case is pretty weird one .He was pretty good ,when Rodri was out ,but gets no chance now. Pep sees nothing he doesn´t like or has Nico G made clear he wants to move on?

If Trafford does leave (hopefully not but he’s too good for the bench) I liked the attitude of that young keeper that came on for West Ham in the cup tie against Leeds. I think he’s called Finn Herrick. England U-20 keeper so young enough to be ok as back up, but looks to really have something about him.

Loved his attitude when he came on, very confident and giving the Leeds players banter before and after each pen. I reckon he’ll be a top keeper in a few years.
No thanks he looked about 4ft 3 and did nothing after first pen save
