Maza analytically is like Bernie by all accounts, haven’t looked just heard that.

Foden and Cherki as 10’s. Foden can also play out wide as let’s be honest he’s never made that his own and Cherki has been outstanding.

From what I've seen, he profiles far more like Foden than Bernardo. Maza looks most comfortable operating in the half-spaces, receiving between the lines and driving play forward - much in the mould of Foden or Cherki. He doesn't strike me as a tempo setter or controller in the way Bernardo is.

Instead, he appears to be more of a progressive ball carrier, someone who thrives on turning with possession and attacking the spaces. This season he's often used centrally but with the freedom of an inside forward, operating just behind Kofane rather than sitting deeper in a structured midfield role. That's a clear contrast to Bernardo, who is typically deployed alongside Rodri in a double pivot, dictating rhythm and maintaining control. That's not to say we won't bring him in, use his attributes to develop him the same way as Bernardo though (Bernardo did play on the wing alot in his early City days).

If the club are moving for him, it likely signals a shift in the attacking options. One of the attacking players could be on the way out, although it's hard to imagine Foden being the one sacrificed. Maybe a direct replacement for Marmoush and then using Semenyo as a replacement for Haaland (if he does get an injury).

Maza reminds me of a Nasri/Hazard type player.

Don’t want to get jumped on as I’m not an itk but I’ve heard that Viana wants an attacker this summer might be bullshit, but would explain the links to wingers.

I think, Viana wants someone than can put up numbers, Diomande is 19 and has 11 goals 5 assists , El Mala the same 11 goals. Similar to Semenyo before we went for him, most of the links are to attackers that put up numbers

would not be cheaper to buy Newcastle outright at this point ? :D

there are better winger options available tbh, Leao, Ndiaye, Kudus, Diomande, El Mala and Mcaidoo

Leao doesnt have the work ethic or minerals playing for Pep imo mate. Ndiaye would be interesting, Diomande as well.

Would love Akliouche here.

I know he got a new deal earlier in the season and still young but wouldn't surprise me if we flipped Savio, has never taken off here and cant think of another player that we kept around in similar circumstances.

Agreed. Good player but just dont think he`s strong enough for the premier league and we could easily sort him somewhere in a european league.

I really don't rate Gordon. He's okay, but I don't see him reaching any great heights, especially in a side like us who have a lot of possession. He's got pace and little else, and is a diver. He's homegrown though, I'll give him that much!

Would prefer McAidoo (or Heskey) start to get chances from the bench and gradually get phased in.

Bouaddi seems to be the one from Ligue un that City like, a few reports last month and 2 articles from French news that theres going to be a fight for him this summer

Gordon is quality. I'd say very underrated by most. Would certainly be an big improvement for Arsenal or Liverpool at LW. Much better than the Trossard/Martinelli's of the world.

However, I'm not convinced he will ever have a place in our best XI over Doku while Semenyo is healthy... as I think he is actually quite similar to Semenyo. Although with the formations we have been deploying lately with a more central attacking focus, maybe all three could play sometimes.

As a home grown player he's top of the line. He really is another athletic monster, which is exactly how we have been recruiting as of late. If we could sign Gordon for anywhere around ~65m then I'd understand it.

I do think Gordon will be more attracted to Assnal/Liverpool because of more secure minutes/role.

I did miss a point off that I'd forgotten, and that's him being able to play down the middle also if needed, so another plus in that regard.

If - IF - we wanted to replace Marmoush in the squad, I'd understand him being in the thinking.

Me either, hes at his level. Same as the rest of their team. We won't be signing anyone from Newcastle
 
What do you guys think about Camavinga? His stock hasn’t been this low in a while. I’m seeing a lot of hate toward him online right now after the red card, but even before that it felt like Real Madrid fans didn’t really appreciate him, to say the least.

I know he hasn’t fully lived up to his potential yet, but he’s only 23. He’s got a great left foot, he’s fast, strong, and an excellent tackler. I actually wanted him at our club before he chose Madrid, and I think Pep could get a lot more out of him than what we’ve seen so far.

I also think we might be able to get him for a relatively bargain price.
 
I have said for a while that a real physical powerhouse in the middle will allow our flair players to flourish. The player needs to have a real engine and desire, and pace to get about the pitch covering the gaps that others will leave. The need is more pronounced now that BS is leaving us.
