John Stones set to leave at end of season | Confirmed by club (p11)

Absolutely gutted. But it's the right move - I wish he'd be able to stay on some sort of pay as you play deal, or reduced wages to warrant being a backup/important figure in the dressing room.

I stand by the opinion that his experience, mentality and world class ability would do wonders for the likes of Khusanov, Reis and even Guehi/Gvardiol as they all continue to develop.

One of my favourite ever City players.

I presume there's something to the Everton links that had been floating around and may help with the fact Grealish will probably end up there permanently too. As well as his obvious pre-existing connection to the club.

A Rolls Royce of a defender, the Champions league final was the pinnacle, and that goal line clearance in the best game of football that i ever witnessed against the scousers, will always be in the memory

Brilliant footballer whose peak came in our greatest ever season, culminating in our CL final win, where he was absolutely outstanding and crucial to our victory. I think that says a lot about him.

A crying shame that he was ravaged by injury, because we'd be speaking about him in an even greater light.

Sad to hear yesterday Bernardo saying he's leaving and now Stones going too. Not surprised, and as sentimentally sad as it is it makes sense, especially JS being on big wages for being out injured more than he's match fit.

I wish both players the very best they do and thank them for their contribution.

Well if there is any further motivation besides winning the league, its sending off Bernardo and Stones as league champions. Its sad though. When they leave, there's only 7 players that would be left from the 2023 roster. Send them out League winners!!

Absolutely class when fit, unfortunately those niggles have done Him, hopefully can finish the season on a high and we do ok in the World Cup! Will miss Him but I think with Khusanov now fighting it out with Dias, it's a tough ask for someone his age to sit it out.

One of the most cultured footballers we've had in our 18 year history. He made football look so damned easy. That run in during the treble season; he was arguably the MOTM at Wembley and Istanbul. Unfortunately, this last couple of years, he's been made of glass.

For me Dave Watson was a joy to watch and he certainly was on on par with Vinnie.
I’m not a FOC oakie so before my time mate, heard very good things about Watson. The three for me are obviously Stones, Kompany and Dias.

Soft spot for Richard Dunne, who I thought was exceptional for us for many years but obviously not on the levels of our more recent teams. Distin too was great.

A proper legend. I think he’s going to be a huge miss, especially for the fans. I wanted to see him end his career at city.

One of The best centre back we’ve had, in my opinion, alongside Kompany.

Feels like we are losing a lot of the personality that made the club what it is
