Arsenal (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

I've listened to quiet a few whinging cockneys on YouTube crying about this game and about how they were so great but Missed their chances ...the accents are grating I've decided I even prefer the stupid Australian accent rather than whinging cockneys lol

I thought it wasn’t a great decision that given how Donna had been struggling to pass the ball out from the back. Donna’s fault but I’m not sure the throw in decision was the best.

On the topic of throw in’s, every one of their long throws near the end was a foul throw as his foot was way over the line. Not called once and the Lino was 5 yards away!
Things like that do my head in.
There are so many highly paid match officials at the game ,so many cameras, yet basic things like foul throws are not spotted.

What a cracking game today. Fair play to Arsenal they went for it today, thought Eze was their best player. The boys in blue held firm and we took our chances when we needed to. Game on now for the title.
Credit to Donnaruma after losing the goal, crucial save in 2nd half and throw to NOR started the build up for our 2nd goal.
Credit to Arsenal… give me a bucket to throw up in

They were slightly more adventurous than the turgid tripe they have dished out lately

Other teams have come to our stadium this season and had far more of a go. The dippers caused us more problems in 20mins than Arsenal did all match yesterday. The difference being unfortunately for them they just didn’t have the benefit of Donnarumma gifting them an opening goal.

??? Did you watch the same match? Hit post twice, Havertz missed a sitter and Donnarumma made a great save.
Semenyo was in twice. He slipped and had a shit first touch on the other.
He also had a blocked shot from 8 yards out. You’re only goal came from our fuck up.
If we are going of chances missed and posts hit, then we should have scored 5 or 6.
Not sure why your lot are so happy with the performance, we were never going to lose that game.
If you would have scored again, so would we.

Does everybody think Arsenal are going to win their last five matches? Seems highly unlikely to me.

They won't

But we have to win half a dozen league games on the bounce too. Not an easy task either as we haven't been so consistent, although we are certainly getting there

The commentary from Neville is not commensurate with the footage.

Viewers are watching a young make shift left back, showing supreme skill, ball control and the audacity to take on 2 oppenents in a tight situation..... ,on the touch line, with little margin for error..
Before then sending a 3rd oppenent the wrong way with a wicked body swerve ...and passing to a blue shirt.
Basically the highest ball playing technique you wil ever see from a ' fullback' ..( I've never in my life see a full back do that)

And all Neville can do ,in a low, flat , monotone voice is mumble on about when he was a full back( 30 years ago ?) and say " what is that?"

The state of modern football punditry .....so biased. That audacious bit of skill should be accompanied by " what a brilliant price of skill from the young City left back, look how he controls the ball and outwits 3 players ."

If that had been a utd home grown youngster doing that,it would have been played on Motd opening footage for the next decade.

I am biased,as a blue.....,but why can't pundits do their job and bring the skilful parts of the game to life, educating viewers, esp the young, to what they are actually seeing.

Brilliance.raw Brilliance.
Tbh in this instance I think you’re misunderstanding what Neville is trying to say. He is nothing but complimentary here, and his “what is that?” is meant as a way of expressing how otherworldly it is to him. It’s all praise from start to finish.

Not impossible if they play like yesterday. But might be difficult due to those 2 games with Atletico.

They won all remaining games once we went top in 23/24 (7-8 games). We needed to win 9 in a row to win the 4 in a row.

Morning all. My nerves have settled down now and my heart rate is back to normal.
What a superb performance and result.
I said to my boys pre match that we are a 2nd half team and I think that was the case again yesterday.
Gigi error but boy did he recover well.
Semenyo not at his best but listen we got the win and that was all that mattered.
Not going Wednesday but my 2 boys will be there.
I couldn't bring myself to chant 2nd again ole ole. Bit to soon. 1 game at a time.
We need to focus now. I still think we are slight outsiders but to have given ourselves a chance is superb.
Imagine had we not chucked the chelsea, brighton, Spurs and Forest points away..

Hindsight hey...

Anyone explain this?

Arteta said: "We have full belief that we can do it. Today we showed again the team that we are. It's in our hands and it's there for the taking."

Well he's saying what he's supposed to.

They're still top and can win it.

Lets remember yesterday wasn't a final, even though people like to call it that. We still have half a dozen games to play.

Arsenal were decent yesterday and still top for a reason. They should still have belief and Legohead is saying what he should.

For all the talk of "stay humble", we should too. We still have a hell of job to do and nothing is won, we are not even job. Luckily we have a manager and players built for the task
