This is going to be a tricky tie. They're in good form and scoring a few goals. We best be on our game if we're going through to the final. I reckon it'll be a nervy 2-1 win. Could go to extra time.

That was before he was convicted for drink driving. That wasn't for consuming too much Barbican!

There is a long break before the next EPL game - 2/3 changes maximum for me.

Semenyo not been upto par for me the last few games. This set up allows Cherki and Doku to drop into a 4 man midfield when we lose the ball, but be part of a 4 man press when we are pushing forward.

With Marmoush operating from the right and making runs in behind, it allows Haaland to come for the ball, knock it off and Marmoush get in behind as the third man…and vice versa with Erling.

Maybe they did look exhausted but cast your mind back to the Beyer game - 10 changes and disaster struck.
Start with the strongest, try to get a couple of goals to deflate the Saints and then bring on subs earlier than usual. Also, we should consider that Southampton players may also be a bit tired - they have been playing under pressure as they try to get into the Championship playoffs - promotion may be more important than chasing a dream.

I don't think Foden gets on the field. if Semenyo doesn't start, Savinho goes in. If Bernardo doesn't start, then Reinjders will go in. I think Nico G gets the nod to pair with Bernardo. Ake perhaps gets a runout for NOR. Marmoush for Doku. Leave Haaland and Cherki in.

Getting everyone involved to ensure a good atmosphere in the dressing room is important; a cohesive group that gets along well is crucial, especially in the final stretch of the season.

If you don't give them significant playing time against a Championship team, it means they won't get any more playing time this season.

No way that Stones, Lewis or Kovacic starts - they are not match fit.
 
I originally thought we'd only make a few changes for his, but seeing how tired some of the players were on Wednesday makes me think we'll rotate a bit more. Maybe something like this?
