Name a place that ONLY you has been to but no other Bluemooner has!

The precise spot where Bobby Kennedy was assassinated.
It was in Cocoanut Grove nightclub in the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles.

It's been demolished now.
The Sixth Floor Museum, Dealey Plaza, Dallas, from where Lee Harvey Oswald allegedly shot JFK, though I don’t believe he acted alone.

Interesting coincidences.
JFK was shot on my Mum’s birthday, when she was expecting my first sister.
RFK was shot on Dad’s birthday, when Mum was expecting my second sister.
And they died the same number of days before my sisters were born.

Any chance you can fit Trumps in on your birthday please.

Only once, but I flew on Concorde during Fairford Airshow. My Dad surprised us, we were watching the airshow completely normally before he took us over “to see Concorde”. Next thing we knew, we were boarding it. Took off as part of the airshow, flew down to North Africa and back before landing as part of the airshow again. Surreal memorytop
top dad you have there.
i'm sure you loved it.

but this is a dick-waving thread...

my mum's elder brother, ex-raf, worked at filton airport bristol,
where concordes were made and maintained.

we often visited and security back then wasn't what it is nowadays.

before entering or re-entering service the concordes had to have a test flight.

i went on many of these in my teens, no passengers, just the 3 fellas in the cockpit and me.
i had the run of the plane.

stand out memories...

the bit of a shake as the plane moved beyond both mach 1 and mach 2.

asking if it could go faster and being told yes but it's only made of aluminium so the tail would melt and fall off.

the nose drooping for landing.

deciding, one time, to sit in every passenger seat one after the other just for summat to do.

and, err, once having a wank in the central loo.

I can remember Concorde, during its test flights, flying over our farm in Cornwall , and being visible, as it wasn’t very high

Also, on clear nights, once it had started its regular service to the
States, the sonic boom, as it cleared land, was something we almost set our clocks by.
