Pep to leave at the end of the season

None of these would want to come to an enormous club, steeped in 15 years of success, fully embedded in CL football, with the best owners in world football?

Ok mate.
Klopp would never come to City, what fantasy world are you living in? Enrique seems more than content with his super team and Vinnies Bayern have things to achieve still.

I find it laughable that you think City can acquire anyone they want and when they want.

Can see him doing post match speech after villa to thank bernado and stones and say by the way I'm off too

Can anyone tell me something good about Maresca, to cheer me up? Its a seriously underwhelming appointment. Im fuming
Not that we’d ever go down the chosen one publicly, but I would imagine after a decade, Pep will have a hand in who succeeds him.

If he’s recommended whoever, I would imagine the hierarchy will listen and consider. If it’s Maresca then that’s who we as fans back.

I would imagine the long term appointment is Kompany. When Mancini left the long term appointment was Pep. The stop gap was Pellers, with the stop gap after pep being whoever it will be.

We are a long term planning club.

He’s done quite well with Chelsea’s young squad in a short time, with a top four finish and even winning cup trophies. He knows City inside out, so he won’t need much time to adjust, and his tactics are similar to Pep’s, so there’s no need for an overhaul. Actually, his CV is even better than Kompany’s before moving to Bayern, the same Kompany who was branded by many here as not ready to manage a top team!

I was one of them. He wasn’t. He relegated a team, albeit promoting them too. We all laughed at the rags when they appointed Wally Gunnar. He relegated Cardiff.

Kompany has since proved he is capable of managing a top team.

It’s laughable you don’t think we could tempt any of them.

Should change your username to likkle citeh.

I thought maresca did a pretty good job at chelsea considering all the handicaps he was facing...also, since he left they dropped to relegation form

Please no!

In the 92 matches in total under Maresca, helsea had 55 wins, 16 draws, and 21 defeats over 92 matches. putting their win percentage under his leadership at 59.8% - the highest since Thomas Tuchel's reign in 2021 and 2022.

Chelsea finished fourth in the league in Maresca's first season in charge - their highest league finish since 2021/22, when they were third. They also won the Conference League and Fifa Club World Cup in 2025.

However it was not just results that meant Maresca had recently come under increased pressure. Reported disagreements emerged between the Italian and the club's hierarchy.

A yes man?

You can tell by his press interviews he’s anything but. He’s a prickly, whinging little fucker.
Was this guy interviewing him? Maybe company man makes more sense, but I wanted to avoid that phrase :)

The hierarchy and him fell out because it came out behind the scenes that he was talking to City about taking the City job apparently.

Yeah, I’m just comparing him with Maresca, but I have nothing against Kompany at all, as I’ve seen a lot of his Burnley clips and have always thought his man-management is top notch.

Khaldoon the master of spin when interviewed will need to pull out all his tricks for this one
