Will we win the league this season? No

It's reached the point now that City must equal or better every Arsenal result, and that includes the scoreline. Last week, when City clawed it back to go top, we were only on top via the goals scored column. Arsenal now top that by 1 (albeit having played two games more).

So, say City win their next two games in hand 1-0; we're second on the basis of GD. (-2)
We win 2-0; we're top on having a better GS (+3) (NB: a 2-0 and 1-0 result still has us second via GD)
If Arsenal go on to thrash West Ham we would need to match their result.

THAT is how tight the league is, folks; people dismissing goal difference as 'not important' need to look at the league figures. In a title race where you're left hoping the other team drops points, goal difference becomes the unexpected boon should that not happen. That's why so many of us saw Burnley as a missed opportunity to have GD become City's ace-in-the-hole. Arsenal WILL score goals, do not delude yourselves. If we want this title we have to equal or better their results as per goals scored, not keep expecting banana skins.

palace last game of the season at home to Arsenal just before a European final
They ain’t gonna roll over
Palace is a tough place at the best of times.
This thing is going to the final game

Arsenal will put at least 3 past west ham. At least 4 past burnley and the will score a bucket full against a weakened palace side. So think we will lose it on goal difference

Id say a missed opportunity would be not beating west ham, forest, spurs, brighton at home, essing up against fulham chelsea with a P.E teacher in charge snd sunderland

Even if we won every match Pep's not going for the big result. He'll play the Pep way. GD will be the killer.

Pretty sure Pep will adapt to the required scenario.

I said pre-Arsenal game yesterday, if they beat Fulham and West Ham, only way we're winning it is on goal difference. With 1 of those out of the way, we have to start preparing for it.

I'm sure Pep will know this too, he'll always want the win and control first but if he smells blood, with Doku, Cherki, Semenyo and Haaland, he'll tell them to keep going.

Some absolute melts on here
Arsenal have won two games in the last week
Both at home

They have two away games left in london which will not be easy
How will they react to going behind if it happens
What if a player gets sent off

How the hell do people give up so easy
Especially when we can still be level by just winning our own matches

We are more than capable of scoring three/four in all of our remaining home games

At this moment, I don't think we should start thinking about beating Everton 2-0, 3-0, that would be a mistake given that the GD to Arsenal is still minor. I was a little relieved at the Arsenal full-time that they had not gone on from 3-0 and scored more.

Have struggled to score all season but sure watch the floodgates open right now. Arsenal are renown for stepping up and handling pressure

We play Palace as well at the Etihad

Because people are pathetic and just straight up look for the worst case scenario in these situations

Home against palace midweek is a lot different to away against them in their last home game of the season
Not sure why people are missing the fact that we play them at home

As if their players are going to be pushing themselves with a cup final 2 weeks down the line and the World Cup on the horizon

They're more likely to be at it in their home game against Arsenal as itll be a sharpener before their Cup final

Not sure why everyone is so unconfident because of 1 game. Both teams could easily drop points and both teams have shown it happens when we least expect it. Not saying we will win it but can't write us off just yet.

We have had a long break and no PL football since that Burnley win. We are 6pts behind which most expected to be the case, goal difference 4 off Arsenal.

A 1-0 win at Everton is fine, plenty of games to go but it would be lovely to get a big win. Instantly the positivity returns and people will believe again.

If we were 6pts behind Arsenal and 4 goals worse off but having played twice more I would be more concerned!

I haven't looked at any Arsenal forums, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were a bit subdued at the final whistle, like a lot of us were after Burnley. 3-0 at half-time, Leno playing like he was, that could have been anything.

I think it's unlikely that neither of us will hand out an absolute caning to somebody - maybe both of us will.

Impossible to quantify (at this stage), of course, but my gut feeling is that a 2-goal win is holding station, whereas a single-goal victory is lost ground and a 3-goal or bigger margin is a definite gain.
