If we played Everton at Wembley and they had 80% of the crowd supporting them would you think that would affect the players?
Yes, probably?

Have I done something to offend you? All I'm saying is that I think Everton is a tough away fixture. I didn't realize that was so controversial

Their home form this year hasn't been great- W2, D2, L4. We're the past masters at making it count, come business end of the season, and although our football hasn't reached the dizzying heights of a few years ago, no team thrives more when it matters. Come on you citizens, make it count.

I certainly hope we go for the FA cup. We should have more wins.
It maybe easier than the league too although I would prefer to win both.

I said this before. If we win this game tonight we keep fighting for the league. If we drop points tonight, don’t go chasing the impossible. Full focus on the cup. Hopefully we carry on winning. However, we have thrown enough cup finals away recently!!

Getting excited now.

You never know what you’re going to get from midtable teams, and Everton are about as mid-table as you can get: 11th, 11 points above relegation, 11 points below CL spots, 29 points above Wolves, 31 points behind Arsenal…

Sometimes midtable teams can be as bad as the worst teams in the league, sometimes they can be as good as the best teams in the league.

They haven’t been great at home: W6 D4 L7
Although, we haven’t been great away for a team going for the title: W9 D4 L4

But we are on a good run of results since the last international break: W6/6 with only 2 goals conceded.

We need some better finishing than we’ve shown against Southampton and Burnley, but maybe tonight is when it ‘clicks’?

Donnarumma
Nunes Khusanov Guehi O'Reilly
Gonzalez Bernardo
Semenyo Cherki Doku
Haaland
Semenyo hasn’t played well for a while. Could do with a performance tonight, if he’s selected. But I wouldn’t be shocked to see him rotated.

Rest of the team picks itself at the moment though.

Our current MO is to create a hatful of chances and then miss (almost all, but thankfully not quite all of) them. Would be great either tonight or at the weekend, to be ruthless for once, run up a big score, and have Arsenal sweating that even winning every game might not be quite enough.

We play 3 teams fighting for Europe plus Everton qnd Palace. Arsenal has nothing but bottom half competition....

Nope, it isn't - It isn't in theirs, either.
We score more goals than them , and concede less ,it will therefore be in our hands , it was the from day we stuffed them at our place.

Everton away is usually a tight game , not sure its tough , we have beaten them eight times on the bounce at Goodison and there home form is not good , seven home defeats already this season, even the Dippers beat them the other week !!. Bournemouth away will be the make or break game , their managers farewell home game and a difficult team to beat , they have only lost two more than us , if we f*ck up , i think its this game.

West Ham will play a big part in this now following the spuds turnaround; which could afford us a little wriggle room; we have to put some goals on the board around that, as Arsenal will spank Burnley and palace; 2 game swing to take that equation off the table…

I’ll take the vikings hammer nailing just one for the points tonight, however, I think we will win well, extremely confident, even after the semi; we are displaying the will to win again and have the gears to shift through, it’s not over confidence either, merely a blossoming team that is blooming…

We have had dips from semenyo in the last 3 games, I’d wager he will be focal tonight

1-3, semenyo double, Haaland rocket

I’m just pointing out that Everton away is now really a brand new fixture that we have never faced

Not controversial but I think the “oooh that’s a tough away fixture” is a cliche trotted out often enough by media numpties with regard to certain fixtures that it can sink into the general psyche despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary

Win or bust, but hopefully we win.

Would take a 1-0 win now
But how great would it be to get a big win and put a marker down.
I have a feeling semenyo is due a big goal tonight

Sorry, but still no, because they can do exactly the same! In other words, your above 'explanation' still has to take into account their results.

On the morning of the 'Aguerooooo!' match, although we were hot favourites, it was not mathematically in our hands. Had United won 10-0 they would have been champions.

'In our hands' would mean that our results alone could make us Champions, even if they win all theirs 50-0, and vice-versa. If we don't win tonight, that puts it in their hands.

How can anybody not know this? Hopefully they'll lose soon and this'll be academic (which frankly it is, anyway).
