A disgraceful undermining of the Ticket Points system - again

If this was applied for all league games too then it would dismantle the charade we currently have which is the favoured branches ie Cheadle Bredbury Reddish Blackpool Didsbury London Heroes Of Waterloo etc getting huge amounts of tickets and other branches having to make do with 2.

Then guess what , when it’s time to re-elect the OSC committee, big numbers from those branches turn up and vote them in again with a show of hands.

They are simply voting to give tickets to themselves.
I know a few members from the Ashton Branch (Heroes of Waterloo), their loyalty can’t be questioned, there’s two of them, Middy who runs it and Ash (think he’s on here as Ash of Ashton), who’ve hardly missed a game going back to the dark days.

There’s others who I don’t know as well but when I’ve been on their coach (sourced my own tickets) I’ve seen plenty of regular faces who’ve been going to City for many years, not really clued up in the process of ticket allocation though, seems it’s got a bit heated on here!

Probably because I’m from the north west and not Yorkshire. And I’ve been going since the early 70s not that it’s any business of yours.

I’ll also say what I want.

I don’t need your permission to speak and as for an attack dog , no one tells me what to say or do- unlike you ??
I am well known Stretford Blue who now lives in Leeds.

I take back the attack dog comment and realise you are part of 1894.

So no £50 tickets or good seats left for low point cup scheme members. What is the fucking point of the scheme, absolutely disgraceful from city

More people will be coming out of the FA Cup scheme as well as the other cup schemes.

There has been a huge drop out rate from the cup schemes over the last few seasons.

Whether City are concerned about that we’ll never know. But ultimately it means less guaranteed revenue for the club.

I’m sure the club hope the new 4000 FG season ticket holders will boost the flagging cup schemes.

Maybe the club are purposely screwing cup scheme members to piss them off so they opt out leaving potentially more empty seats for the waiting tourists to pick up against the mighty Salford and Exeter (no disrespect to those two clubs) £125 for three of us on the cup scheme this morning.

They don’t give a fuck - get everyone off the schemes, off their season tickets, without releasing numbers of either so they can sell an unaccounted for number to third party sites for finals for £400 each. Few empty seats vs lower league opposition is nothing when you can charge what you to a tourist for a final.

There are still £80's left!

Cup scheme was always a pointless concept. Was never a thing once upon a time. Designed by folk who wanted to give themselves a leg up because they had far less loyalty points than others. Can abolish it now for me.

Managed to get a couple in safe standing right at the back of 545 for £50. But all the decent cheap seats already gone by 10am today. Will be very interesting to see the cup scheme take up next year!

I had more than enough points to.get my ticket in the first window, but for those who didn't.The answer is simple.Join a supporters club. You can then spend your days off work orgainsing transport and tickets for other blues.Going to boring commitee meetings and on match avoid alcohol, while you are stewarding coachs.Just to get fellow blues to game. The work these clubs do is as important to the club now as it was back in the dark days. From Bredbury to Bangladesh, from Didsbury to Dubai.Keep up the goodwork

Nearly 45 years season ticket holder and this will be the 1st time I've not been to wembley. Apart from the arsenal charity shield
I payed £120 for the Wigan cup final and I said never again would I pay that. All them games , semi finals , early rounds when no on can be arsed and then I'm hearing people who have had little or even no ticket history are getting the cheap tickets. Absolute shambles.

I missed them then, I was stuck in traffic this morning and had to pull over in the the centre of Bury, effing roadworks causing tailbacks. Had to order them on my phone and I find it far easier doing it on a laptop especially when im rushing to get to a job and running late. Oh well at least we got them.

This is not how modern football clubs think. They need to grow their support globally and do so quickly. If you just have a system that those who have attended most have priority over everyone else then those down the pecking order get disillusioned. Some of your newer fans will disappear in that case. It’s why there are Cup Schemes, Platinum and the OSC, to keep fans committed.

What has their charitable donations got to do with anything, that’s a smokescreen comment.

If they have circa 70 season tickets and those season ticket holders aren’t flying in each game (which they won’t be) then they lose their tickets.

If they all have their tickets next season then something will be up.

A couple will have reached the criteria… what about the other 68 !
OK but I understand they only got 8 tickets for the game in Bodo so some of their benefits are exaggerated

You’ve described the role of the people running the OSC’s, not the members. I don’t question the commitment of those running the clubs but fail to see why that should give their members priority tickets for this final without any qualifying criteria beyond being a OSC member.

Kevin Parker would dispute this......you are talking about the supporters club, right? ;-)

The cup schemes and the platinum season ticket were brought in by the club get extra revenue in early and to bank it early, not to keep the fans committed.

Platinum and the 3 cup schemes were brought in by the club to replace away loyalty points, which was stopped by the club, and to get more fans through the turnstiles for the 3 cup competitions.

Fans buy platinum season tickets and join the 3 schemes to first and foremost watch City in most cases, and to increase their loyalty points so they don’t slip further down the away ticket list.

Does anyone know how many additional loyalty points a person got for having a Platinum season ticket and being in the 3 cup schemes at the start of the season?

I've had a season ticket for 10 years and have been on all three cup schemes throughout that time. I've been to 90% of the Wembley games including the semi finals and Community Shields. Haven't quite reached 5000 points so my ticket window opens at 1 today.

I've already decided to sack off the Euro cup scheme because 4 home games at group stage with no real jeopardy at random times of the season isn't working for me.

The domestic cup schemes are painful because I'm South Stand L1 and we invariably get kicked to the standing tier (if I wanted to stand then I'd have bought an L0 season ticket). And it's 30 minutes on the phone within a 3 hour window if I wanted to change the allocated "seat".

Upshot is, if I get onto the site today and the only tickets left are £125, then next year will be the first season in a decade where I won't be on any of the cup schemes. I'll still go to a lot of the matches but it will be by choice every time.

This kind of mood CANNOT be good for the club, especially with an extra 7000 seats to fill.
As expected, cheapest ticket £125. Enjoy your day blues.

Don't rewrite history. Platinum and the cup schemes were around at the same time as points were given for away games. That was the situation when we moved to the Etihad. The latter were stopped in 2019.

You get 100 points per cup scheme, which was doubled if you had a Platinum season ticket. So that's an additional 300 points on top of the 300 you would have got with a Gold season ticket.

..or alternatively meant that those who bothered their arses turning up for games against Salford and Burton would be rewarded for doing so.
