Will we win the league this season? No

Ok, they’ve reached the final of the CL. Something tells me Lego fuck will put his eggs in that basket.

Can you imagine then if they win that and we go on and drown it out by doing the domestic treble again? How to take the absolute limelight off an achievement of another club.

The media will all be about their league bottle job and our treble, making their CL win totally unnoticed and insignificant.

Make. It. Happen!

Just had a quick look back at what posters were saying pre-season. Apart from the odd nutter who were adamant that what they wanted to happen, would happen, the assessments of most posters were accurate. The only surprising element has been the collapse of liverpool and, even then, many posters predicted the fall-off in performances of Salah and VVD.

The red top media ..still influence tge social 'meeja' narrative...Arsenal winning a corner will trump any coverage we get... we are pretty much hated by "meeja" in general

I agree and doubt West Ham will take any points from Arsenal….but that was my point that even if we had won last night we still needed Arsenal to drop points at West Ham due to the potential goal difference being too great.
Not really. If we had won last night, the goal difference would have been at worst 3 in their favour. If we had won our other game in hand even by one goal, down to 2. Possibly less. That over the next 3 games is doable. But with that pressure on them would have made it all the harder for them to win all their games. And if they drew, that was it. Now if they draw, they can still win it on goal difference which now stays as 4 in their favour.

That point may yet turn our to be crucial and it is certainly not over yet. But let's not pretend that nothing changed.

Imho last night was an important result. And not good for us. Arsenal reaching the CL final is a great achievement no matter what way you look at it. And unbeaten. It will definitely lift their spirit even more after we dropped points first. They can now fully concentrate on the league with 3 games in London. No distractions whatsoever.

So no, I don’t think they will bottle it this time. I think it’s harder to win all our remaining games rather than hoping for them to drop points. My only hope is they need a result on the last day of the season which can be a nervewrecker as we have experienced a few times.

I think it's all down to the West Ham game. It's literally do or die for West Ham which gives us a small chance.

We have to put some serious pressure on with an impressive performance against Brentford.

Totally agree.

I think firstly we need to beat Brentford and win quite well (2 or 3 goals) to put some pressure back on Arsenal and then were reliant on West Ham getting something. I'm not sure a draw will even do with the goal difference as it is with them to play Burnley at home, but you never know. The Doku goal could be crucial but we just dont know yet.

Its a small chance now IMO and I'd be more than happy with a cup double given its the middle of a transition.

Do you actually think West Ham, who let’s face it are pretty shit, Will get anything against them? It a very slim chance. 5% I’d say.

They are hungry now, they have conceded one goal in the last 4 games since losing to us and are flying around like inhaler driven dippers on steroids.

I personably think they will win 2/3 on Sunday.
You’re probably right but teams fighting against relegation can sometimes put superhuman performances in as well. Nobody expected Wigan to beat United during the 2011/12 title run-in. That match, along with our 4-0 win at home to West Brom the same night, kicked the door back open for us when we all thought it was over after losing at Arsenal a few days earlier and falling 8 points behind.

In any case, we need to win on Saturday before worrying about West Ham v Arsenal. Do that and it puts a little bit of pressure back on Arsenal to get a result on Sunday.

If we end with 83 points we can’t really be too bothered about not winning the league this year
That’s not a great showing and Arsenal may win with a shit total as well.
At this point we need to beat Brentford and palace to get some form ahead of the FA cup

I’d put everything into the FA cup final
Then worry about Bournemouth later
What I don’t want is pep playing half a team against Chelsea and losing and then we go to Bournemouth and fuck it anyway.

In some ways if Arsenal beat West Ham it makes it straight forward
I’m still hoping for an upset

For all the predictable euphoria. theyve had two extremely winnable home games and the stuffiest route to the ECL final, the only decent team in their half Barcelona got a few bad refereeing decisions v Athletico surprisingly.
Theyve now got relegated Burnley and Palace 3 days before their biggest game in their history, so in reality West Ham is our only hope and should it happen, unlikely, we wont bugger it up again.

Even if they beat west ham, if we win all our games and take it to the last day then anything can happen - they're away, we're home. At least make them work for it by winning our games

Winning the PL with 80 odd points isn’t shit. It’s not normal to win with 95 plus points as Pep has always said.

88 points is average for the Champions and in most seasons 82 would be ahead of second place.

This is a normal season.

Just happy we signed a centre back in January. Guehi going to Liverpool might have changed the outlook completely. Undefeated domestically since the Derby(he started the game after). 18 game run.

After summer 25, Arsenal were looking good. Liverpool's transfers were on paper better than ours. Chelsea had won WCC. Villas form this season also made me think we might have been a lot lower with the injuries we had

I know this is generally not allowed in football fandom but can we not just accept Arsenal are a bloody good side.

Yes they may be a bit tough to watch but that doesn’t take away from the fact that they are still one of the better sides currently in Europe.

They had their wobble but I thought they played really well at our place and on another day they easily get a point or even all 3 if that Eze shot goes in.

Yes it’s frustrating we probably aren’t gonna win the league this year but football has always been and always will be cyclical in nature.

We had a great period and now we are rebuilding to hopefully once again get close to those levels. Arsenal are currently the team to beat and have the strongest squad in this country. And that’s fine to admit that. It won’t last forever.
