Jesus i thought I stumbled upon our post match for a second
The 9 figures being floated for him is complete twaddle. He’s a £50M player if he’s not English with PL experience, and a £60-75M player because he is.I haven't commented on Anderson at all, because frankly I haven't seen him play much, or paid much attention when he is playing, but remember he was a bit part player at Newcastle, making this effectively only his 2nd season as a regular first team player.
In midfield terms he's still young, inexperienced and will have set-backs like it sounds like he did in this game.

If City pay any more than that for him, Forest are taking the piss. We can find a similar quality young foreigner for less money guaranteed!
I have seen that your fan base seems to be changing their opinion on Anderson. Seeing ridiculous figures rating him as low as a 40m player. I think he goes for 80m people saying what has he won but maybe I need to remind some of your fans what fee you paid for Grealish and had he won anything before joining City. Think only one person really matters on the fee and that person I believe is Pep if he thinks the price is right he comes to you. If he doesn't arrive at City I would be happy to have another 3 seasons of Anderson and we sell someone else to help balance the books.Yeah 4/6 yards ago that fee you look at fees for players now the going rate for a England international 23 year old premier player that a club like man city want is that 100m mark there is lots of examples of it!

Exactly he was great last weekI’ve seen him a few times this season and he was always impressive. Last night was his worst game I’ve seen but who doesn’t have a bad game?

I agree with you but the powers that be paid it. So the only people what matter are the people who are coughing up the money and how much they think they require a certain player. It's always and interesting debate on values and only time tells who might have got the better of the deal. In my opinion if we were to get 80m for him we get nearly 60m profit on his book value. You end up with a player for 25 m cheaper than Arsenal paid for Rice who I personally don't think is as good. So it might be a very rare occasion where both clubs win.I think the vast majority of us said at that the time that £100m for Grealish was ridiculous
Oh yeah of course. It doesn't matter what our opinion is, I'm personally not arsed how much the clubs spend on a player, my issue with the Grealish signing was that it was too much on a player who, in my opinion, wouldn't necessarily improve us massively.I agree with you but the powers that be paid it. He's top of loads of metrics for the PL, in fact there are ones he top across Europe for. Most are defensive, but some are attacking/creative. He's also young and a regular for England.
If you think that makes him a £50m player then you've been asleep for around 10 years. I'd certainly put him in the £70-80m bracket with no problems, but when you consider how much Caicedo and Rice went for, you can see why Forest might hope for more.
That said, your last sentence is possibly spot on, but they may longer to adapt.
I would not blame your scouting department on this one.. Newcastle needed to comply with PSR and Forest maybe easier to deal with than improving a top 6 club. You might agree or not agree with this next comment ego's could have come to play in this matter the Saudis might not want to deal with another rich oil state even if City were interested .Oh yeah of course. If they deem that Anderson is the right player for the job then I hope we get him, regardless of the cost. I've not seen enough of him to form an opinion but considering you only signed him in 2024, you really have to question our scouting department.
Yeah, it is what it is.The English tax also

O’Reilly could develop to be a better CM than Anderson. Would be a waste of 100m, personally don’t think Rice was worth that price as well.
Who would you buy then ?If this is the level of player we are going after then we really have lost the ambition we once had.
He’s a decent premier league midfielder and that’s about it.
He’s nowhere near the level of gundog, silva, Bernardo, Kev, Yaya, fern, nasri, the list could go on and on.
And before anyone highlights his position against those mentioned, I’m saying the level of quality.
We have started to shop at some strange places in the last couple of years and the levels are dropping like a stone.
