Here's a question. A few months back we learnt that you can't be fouling somebody before a corner is actually taken and the ball is in play.

The referee, according to Neville has just been saying that the foul on Raya happens before the foul by Rice. Which it did but the ball was dead, at the point the corner is taken, there's three fouls that are all happening. Rice bear hugging, Trossard not looking at ball and fouling his man and the foul on Raya. So factually none of them are happening "first". Therefore, how can he give one and not the other two?

The lesgue this year had been a true disgrace in terms of how football should be played. A good City team would have won it, so I am at ease with that. Didn't watch the game. Rather it had been a draw of course. The goal that was chalked off, was it a foul? Harsh? 50/50? Anyway feck them both.

In isolation. It's a foul, but in the context of this season and what's been allowed and what hasn't across the league, there is no justification for disallowing it.

But if you call the foul, then he should be looking at the player who makes the foul, and see that the first foul is the Arsenal player not looking at the ball and both arms tight around the player and driving him like a rugby scrum (that’s why the arm goes up and across the keeper) also rice doing the same thing at back post should have been given as penalties but it’s Arsenal.
