Match discussion (WFAC) - Chelsea 2 v 3 City - Sunday 10 May KO 15:30

Great comeback today. Main takeaway for me is that next season we will have to see more game time for Mary, Iman and Sydney and today proved they are all capable. Extra games will mean more rotation but we have a good squad to build on.

Well that was sure a surprising result ..... when I last looked at the scoreline with about 15 mins left, we were 2-0 down , so I just assumed the worst ..... what a lovely surprise it was when I checked in again later on to see the full time result ..... what a comeback, great win for the girls that was, and the quality and value of Bunny Shaw stands out yet again!

Good to see Mary back on the score sheet, and really pleasing for Yui to set up the winner - her own personal redemption (not that she really needed it) for the heartbreak of last year's LC final.

The Girls in Blue fought 'till the End. Take a bow ladies and lasses.

Bunny spectacular, sent Bronze to retirement, twice!

Kiara made up for her kepa with the save of the season.

Hempo, bleeding for the shirt and excelling in her new found NOR role at left back.

Mary F Fowler, what a whip!

Iman Beney, inmense against those thuggish chavettes, giving them their comeuppance, setting up Bunny and Fowler for equalising the match. POTM.

Yui's vision for the pressing and assisting the winner.

Fujino covering for Hemp and Kerolin.

What a fucking Remontada!

When they scored so early, I said to myself, "Bloody Chelsea again!"

And even late in the game, I couldn’t see any way back for us.
My thoughts too. Even when Fowler scored In thought it was too late. Really impressed with how they dug it out. They all played their part, a great result for them.

Thought we looked v tired yesterday and Chelsea posed the bigger threat for most of the game. But we showed great resilence to turn things around.

Positives
The players who havent featured as much as they would have liked this season all played very well. With UWCL coming next season the coach will need to trust these players. It was reassuring to see the likes of Clinton, Beney and Lohmann amongst our best performers.

LBB a class act again. She's learning well from Yui. Getting more comfortable in tight spaces and able to pick a pass

Greenwood much better in her preferred LCB spot. We need to recruit two leftbacks this summer.

Negatives
I hate saying this as ive always backed her to fulfil her potential and she's clearly a great character but i think Keating's time is up for me. The kind of mistakes we saw yesterday happen too often and are way too costly. We saw the best of her with that save later on but the mistakes just arent going away.

I hope she can find that consistency if she can play week in week out somewhere but she isnt going to be trusted to do that at City. She either needs a loan or to be sold next season. Her mum has been complaining about her lack of minutes on Facebook anyway so i can see her moving on.

I've just watched the highlights and I feel like Beney could have been used more this season to rest Kirstin. She was quality when she came on - Bunny's first goal was from Beney not giving up and putting herself about.
She's a fabulous young player and I think has a great future with us, but I doubt many would have had her as first choice before Kerstin given the performances she's put in this season. Lots of games to look forward to next season with CL matches and I'm sure Iman and all the others will get plenty of game time. We've got a really good squad

Any news on when Cup Final tickets will go on sale? I know they are available through Wembley but would rather but through City.

No confirmation yet apparently but the news is we’ll be behind one of the goals.

I couldn't agree more about Keating. Whoever concluded that she was a good keeper? She is not. I've watched her many times, and she ALWAYS makes a couple of terrible decisions/howlers, in every game she plays. She's especially guilty of chasing balls way out from goal. In this game she just let an easy catch go through her hands. She is not a starting keeper, and we can all see why.

I think anyone who watched her during the 23/24 season was justified in believing she'd go all the way. She had an incredible season and there was enough top class goalkeeping for you to forgive the odd mistake. She was so young the hope was she'd grow out of it.

Unfortunately a chaotic season under Taylor and playing behind an injury ravaged defence seemed to send her backwards last year and she hasnt bounced back despite the club being a much more settled environment this year. I still really hope she makes it but cant see it being with us.

TBH im not 100% sold on Yama either. A very decent goalie and seems a great personality but she also has some weaknesses to her game. I would take Nnadozie from Brighton ahead of either of them.

Agree with everything you have said there.

Keating is only 21. She's an absolute baby in goalkeeping terms. There's enough to see she's got something - she just needs to cut out the mistakes.
Agreed, and it's often decision making that is her issue, not her ability.

And grow 6”
Unlikely at 21, I don't know how she compares height wise to other keepers, but she does look small in our goal.
