Season Card taken away after 50 years!

I already told you. They only officially attended 9 games each on their own card. The reason was because my Dad broke his hip midway through the season and couldn't come any more, and he brought his mate. So the two tickets next to me were free so my sons used my dad's two tickets instead of their own so they could sit with me.

City refused to help. 6 of us over 3 generations has becomes 1 of us. I didn't make a big fuss on here or anywhere else and they went and got Saturday jobs at another football club but it pissed me off because I saw it as indicative of bad policies losing loyal fans. I still buy them tickets for some games (maybe about 6-7 this year) but thy would have been sitting with me for every game, cups too, this season if City hadn't been dicks about it. And now they are out of the habit.
It’s a severe lack of common sense and is so
Short sighted from the club.

They’re behaving like there’s 20,000 fans locked out each week who can’t get tickets. They behave like we’ve got a global fanbase travelling as tourists like Liverpool and the Rags have, yet they don’t realise they rely heavily on local fans’ loyalty to fill the ground.

That’s two customers and their revenue they’ve lost now. Multiply that by x amount of fans they’ve done it to and it adds up.

I’ve zero problem with them doing it for people who don’t go and then don’t list their tickets on the exchange, but when your lads are physically attending, just in another seat that’s unoccupied, it makes no sense.

The club need to be very careful, piss enough people off and they’ll be deserted.

Whether it's medical, work pattern, new parents dealing with a new born, it's striking that City are jumping on people for 1 season. If people have a rolling 3 season attendance of day 60 matches at home and they attend under half that might be a reason to downgrade to Flexi. But one season? That's disgraceful.
Yeah this is the crux of the issue for me. Judging people on a season-by-season basis was always going to throw up problems and anomalies; all it takes it takes is one 6 month issue be it health, financial, personal issue, change to work arrangements, any short term change of circumstance etc and you're struggling to make the 10.

Thankfully I think they've seen some sense and changed this policy for next year?

I assume that his lads didn’t used their own tickets 10 times as they used their Grandad’s and the seat next to it, so they all got done for not reaching the 10 games personally in their seat.
The lads should have scanned their own seats, sat where grandad was, then sorted the other with the club.

Mate you contacted the club once, they never got back, yes 100% they should have but you also should have got back to them to sort it out.

I didn't contact the club "once" I contected them several times and escalated it to ticket office management. And you can fuck off with your "advice" to be honest because you don't know anything about it.

Yeah, maybe, but the club are being hugely myopic with this.

I moved a fair way away from Manchester last May and was debating whether to renew my seasoncard. The 10 game minimum made that decision for me.

Midweek games and rearranged fixtures would have made me lose it now anyway.

Who are they going to replace longterm seasoncard holders with?

Are you deliberately being stupid, in his OP he says they sat in his dad's and dad's mate's unoccupied seats due to being unable to attend to due to an injury. And therefore didn't accrue the attendances in their own seats.
But why would they do that, why wouldn't you scan in on your own ticket then go sit in the empty seats next your dad?

I've attended 9 games personally so far on mine. Due to parenting and work commitments, I cant get to them all.

Of the other 8, I've sold 2 back via the club exchange, 5 have been sent to friends and family and 1 missed as it was too late to do anything about it (unforeseen work issues on the day).

I will be at Palace & Villa so will be OK for the minimum 10 but it's crap people are being kicked out. I've had to keep a running count of matches attended.

Once you've paid for your ST, you should be able to do what you want.

Looked at the replies to his post on Twitter and its due to his job is NHS shifts and also off shore and late changes to KO times Says he used the lift entrance as his mate is disable but not sure if his ticket was scanned properly, said his ticket was used every game claims he told the club and was offered a Flexi Gold but refused
Why wouldn't he take a flexi gold, seems to me the club tried to help.

I dont agree with that not if there is a list of people who want to regularly. If your going to go to less than 10 games, then get a membership

Your "first" post you said you contacted them and as it was christmas/new year they never got back ? That was it ?

Clubs don't want season ticket holders to attend only 6 games, years ago it didn't happen, now it does.

I don’t understand how City know he hasn’t attended if the ticket has been used? Does it mean he’s transferred to someone on his friends and family too many times?
What happens if he sells it back to the club. My youngest lad works as a musician and has had to miss a fair few games due to work this season but each time he has sold it back to City.

Disgraceful when the ticket has been used for every game albeit not by the holder.

Exactly my case, and why I gave up the season ticket this season.
Living abroad, I could not make the ten games a season. Even in my best years, when I was earning properly, I think I made about eight home games a season. I deliberately never sat down to work out how much each match was costing me — if I had, I'd have given it up immediately — but even avoiding the specific accounting, I could hardly avoid knowing that each match was several hundred pounds out of my pocket. Especially if no-one could put me up in Manchester, which happened from time to time. On a Saturday night, the worst night of course for being in a hotel, the Ibis, for example, on Pollard Street, is about £140. And that's just accommodation.
Madness, really.
BUT I made absolutely sure that that seat was never empty. Ever. And with good lifelong blues in it, too — not tourists. The rigid ten-game rule put paid to me.
I got over this season for the Everton and Fulham games, and was at Wembley for the Carabao Cup final. I do what I can.
From a purely accounting perspective — that is, the perspective of the suits — it all makes sense of course. They don't actually want such a high proportion of season ticket holders (it's higher than many other top clubs in the PL, apparently, much higher than LFC, anyway). They can sell those seats off to a tourist from China, who's on a PL package, with three matches at different grounds as part of it. I've met some (from Canada, Switzerland, in fact). That's the deal, and it's very lucrative. Whether the person sitting in that seat is actually a supporter of the club is immaterial to them. But then, what do they care? They couldn't give a toss. The administrators at the club are in most cases not MCFC supporters themselves and never have been. They may well not be even slightly interested in football.
But this is where, when Pep chivvies us (slightly reproachfully? that's what I hear, anyway) and says, “We need our people”, and wants more noise from the crowd, especially for European nights, he does not seem to realise the contradiction that is becoming more and more visible. Well, you could say, it's not his problem.
But it is ours, as lifelong supporters.
