Crystal Palace (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Foden provided the spark we needed and then we were pretty good considering the changes. A few errors, and some things for Pep to think about for the cup final.

I thought Bernardo was poor again. He just takes too many touches and we lacked that crisp quick passing through the lines which came when Kovacic got on the pitch.

Hopefully Rodri can play in the final but failing that we need to think about the dynamic in midfield. Bernardo covers a lot of ground and absorbs pressure well but needs someone next to him playing a quick ball into the space in my opinion.

Decent result with the team we put out, minutes in the legs of some fringe players, Stones getting his goodbye, can't ask for much more. Looking forward to Saturday now, get this domestic double won and see what happens next Week.

Sadly palace will likely rest everyone against arsenal as they have a cup final 3 days later.
Agree. Based on tonight’s performance I can only see a similar one against Arsenal, possibly even worse. The only advantage is that they might want to put out a good performance the last game of the season for their fans but they’ll be looking forward to the final. That draw vs toffees really cost us the title.

good performance

moved the ball quickly after the first 20 mins

Foden easily the MOTM - looks like he had his spark back which is only ever going to be a good thing.

Benardo - dont know how we are going to replace him either in terms of ability or attitude......just never stops...

Great finishes from Marmoush and Semenyo and both worked hard as well - But both showed why they are at present a step below - world class finishers both of them BUT they dont have enough in other parts of the game - both have poor first touch and are not great in tight spaces. Semenyo has a space outwide but marmoush doesnt and its a shame as his finishing is on par with most other strikers out there...but he aitn getting in over Haaland.

Khusonov has really come on leaps and bounds...his use of the ball is improving every game

Even Sav scored and he probably deserved it in all fairness - Ive been very critiful of him and he has a long way to go but that was more like it tonight.

Techincal football will win out eventually and that showed tonight....our players were simply much more comfortable on the ball in tight spaces and little time that anyone on the Palace side...

We just need them to play Arsenal with 10 men behind the ball...and that low block and you never know!
