Chelsea (N) | FA Cup Final | Post Match Thread

Their record in domestic finals in the past decade is pretty wretched.

7 FA Cup finals, 1 win.
3 EFL Cup finals, 3 defeats

10 domestic cup finals, 9 defeats. Maybe there's a second london club worthy of the "bottlers" title.
Makes it even more tragic they beat us in that champions league final. Or more to the point we beat ourselves!

Chelsea manager #45 this season just said “it was a clear penalty”

Any idea wtf he’s talking about? Not seen one of their dives I thought was a pen

I can only think he's referring to the last incident at the Chelsea end of the ground, where legs seemed to get tangled, and the Chelsea player went down .... this ref wasn't interested in it, but I can well imagine one or two others might have given it.

Another trophy in the bag, and another great day out. Thank you Pep. Atmosphere seemed a bit subdued compared to the Carabao final, but still buzzing with that. Winning both domestic trophies in a transitional season is a phenomenal achievement.
We were told we were massive underdogs v Arsenal, massive favourites today, maybe a different fan mindset.

God I love this club. Bet there are loads of fans who, just like me, when we win another trophy, think only of that close relative who supported them all through those desperately lean years and never lived to see this. This is so cheesy I can’t believe I’ve posted it, but it’s true and I have drunk at fair amount.

He could have done that from the bench.

It was a fantastic goal, one of the very best in a cup final. He also had a good first half.

However I still don’t think he should be nailed on starter in every single game.
He was perfect form match he ran the Chelsea team ragged.

I agree against some opponents Foden or Cherki would have been a better option. It is hard to leave him out as he is a real goal threat even when he has poor games.

Tough game in the end but we got it done. We started it so much on top i thought we would stroll it but like a lot of games if you don't score in that period the opposition come back into it snd so it proved. A real slog but we won which is all that matters. Shout out to the ref Darren England. In spite of our fears i thought he had a great game. Drained now in the Wembley central Travelodge. Just had a bite to eat so might pop out to JJ Moons snd see if it's died down a bit. Was a huge queue around 6.15.
I agree about England. I thought he had a more than decent game.
