It's not about not trusting him. Ahead of a cup final he's asked if hes staying and he says yes. He isn't going to give any negative soundbites to the media by acting unsure or saying no right before a huge game as it could derail the team. The fact Guehi can't say with certainty shows he hasn't emphatically told the team he's staying. If you can't trust our manager who's always been honest that's your problem, not mine. I have no doubt whatsoever he'll be here next season and i won't be surprised if he extends another season or two.
Pep Guardiola is still addicted to a drug called MCFC; )
I am relaxed too. And I am also ok not 'knowing'.
If there was something to know, or the club and Pep wanted us to know, we'd know.
If there isn't, or there is a reason they don't yet want people knowing, then I accept and respect that too, and will wait. Pep has set out a stance and has been amazing at sticking to it, and weathering such persistent attempts.
We have two games left, we have two trophies in the bag, and I love it all, treble or not, Pep here next year or not.
As you say, relaxed.
He has always lied, after Spurs hammered us he was delighted with the players during his first defeat in 2016. He is more contrary than John Lydon in interviews and always has been.If you can't trust our manager who's always been honest that's your problem, not mine. He's always honoured his contracts, and he'll honour his current contract till end of next season. He's already said he will yet you and several other flappers don't believe him. I believe him.He has always lied, after Spurs hammered us he was delighted with the players during his first defeat in 2016. He is more contrary than John Lydon in interviews and always has been.
When he is unhappy with officials he says "the ref did an amazing job".
When asked his body language shows he is not sure at best.
Sam Lee is universally hated here but there he says pep might not leave so he will believed in this caseSo which team are we supporting - Sam Lee , Pep ( who may or may not have mentioned he is staying in a sarcastic manner or not) vs Mark Ogden and Jack who say he is leaving ?
Quite a conundrum.
There is the third option of waiting for the official announcement but that's option is for the boring people!
I think the last thing he would do is to leave the club hamstrung by uncertainty all summerThe way I see it is at some point early in this season Pep must have given the indication at that time he had no desire to extend hence why we started planning for a future without him, Maresca Cleary becomes the plan. Its been reported we spoke to him whilst still at Chelsea about this and one of the reasons he left.
Really no different to the Pep thought he was done years ago, Arteta was ready to take over until a family break in Scotland where he decided to stay longer. This time however more noise as the potential replacement is outside the club so only natural that would happen.
Pep is insistent he has 1 more year left on his deal.
This week the announcement of two coaches going has got everyone going about it again, but to be honest before this year I never expected Pep Lijnders to just rock up be assistant and look like he's been here for years with how he's connected. Being reported this morning more staff changes going to happen. So some may think oh a transitional year if Pep stays but he's already shown how often he can rebuild squads/coaching staff.
Also heavily reported how instead he currently is, an article earlier said "fallen in love with the players this year". So we've seen this before. Personally I dont think it's that farfetched that Pep has a break this summer where he actually evaluates his future and decides to stay next season, or beyond. But only he can decide that and he has earned the right to do whatever he wants. Thankfully this club is so well run we have a plan incase he goes despite the fact he might not. They clearly know how big of a deal it will be to replace him.
I dont think he'll turn around after the games against Bournemouth or Villa and just announce something. I think it's only right to expect him to have the summer to think. It might be a random Tuesday morning and the news breaks he wont be staying or he might lead us into next season again with the same uncertainty which is so media driven.
We just have to wait and enjoy every day as it comes. I dont think the media will affect him, he's a sarcastic bastard and loves trolling everyone. But it must be tedious.
But the club literally has a plan in place incase and everyone knows that. If he goes Maresca will basically be announced at the same time.I think the last thing he would do is to leave the club hamstrung by uncertainty all summer
Sums up exactly how I feel tbf!Personally I think he’s more likely going, my feeling is that it’s easy enough to have put this to bed categorically and it’s not been.
I’ve said before but imo there is zero chance that City don’t know, no way are we still waiting on a decision from Pep at this stage. Consequently I’m more of the belief he’s off.
Equally wouldn’t surprise me if he stayed, lol.

He’s staying , of course
From Martin Samuel today.
'Guardiola insists we are seeing things that are not there. He gave nothing away, but is adamant he will see out his contract which expires at the end of next season, and is quite affronted that his word is so regularly doubted'.
