Media discussion - 2025/26

Well I guess I must’ve dreamt that City won the FA cup this weekend (apparently the most prestigious and oldest cup in the world)

Maybe I didn’t look close enough, but it’s only Monday and the BBC football homemade doesn’t have a single article about the game on it anymore

But you can still read a few articles about (rat face) Fernandes and his world beating assists

What an absolute joke and bitter cunts they are lol (and sky’s no better)
I’m so happy I don’t live in England anymore, because it would kill me having to pay them cunts the TV licence fee every year
I live in England and don’t pay the fee, it’s nowt to do with money (I donate it to Help for Heroes and a local charity), it’s a protest against the biased organisation and the way it’s historically protected paedophiles who they knew were sexual predators, they can fuck off.

It's not worth reading the BBC Football if you expect even handed reporting . They are hand in glove with the PL , as they have a major contract with them . It runs for four years and started this season ..

Helpfully Simon Stone has given us analysis in this article .

In reality this means the BBC is the PL 's mouthpiece .

Had talksport on since 9 am and theyve only just mentioned the fa cup final at 12:22.

It got a full 2 minutes initially, which was about pep leaving. Then a few minutes on the title race and Simon Jordan calling it a dreadful cup final.

Over and out and cup final coverage concluded for the adverts at 12:30.

Yes it was typical jordan. No understanding that Chelse played with 5 at the back 2 DM, and Palmer as a second right back.

Last Season they had 90 minutes about Palace.
I think Keown was embarrassed

Nail on head.
Media will sit and discuss the FA Cup losing it's status and glamour.
But they've created that.

By bigging up the SPL all weekend they made it a focal point.

People were chatting on the tube to the game about Celtic v Hearts. Why cos the written press had it back page; Sky had it main headline (not surprising as they don't have the rights to the cup final!) and the Beeb had it all over their homepage.

Same with Conference National which is probably a better standard than the SPL!
But they covered Rochdale v York like it was the CL final.
To those two it was and it did deserve coverage.

But they've practically ignored the FA Cup final and they'll moan it doesn't mean the same as it used to!!!!!!!

So my last question is.
If you take something off the back pages and put it inside the paper; who is devaluing the competition???
All true of course….but I GUARANTEE if it was the rags, dippers or Arsenal that were FACUP winners,it definitely wouldn’t have been INSIDE the paper.

Was hardly going to be a "blood and thunder" game (from our perspective anyway), with a huge game a matter of days later was it? Had it been played as the final game of the season (as it should be), it would most likely have been played at a higher tempo. These people really are as thick as fuckin mince aren't they?

The BBC is an outdated organisation for the present day and needs to be made to stand or fall financially in a competitive market.
It was set up originally when it held a unbiased position in a simpler society but because of an explosion of social media and more extreme politics it's lost its neutrality to try and stay relevant, very much like the rags it openly favours.
Two old irrelevant bloated antiques trying and failing to look trendy.

It's run by the security services to keep people stupid. It was and never will be neutral.

BBC sports stories and Talksport should be avoided by all City fans it’s so toxic and disrespectful to our great achievements.
Talkshite is The Sun newspaper for radio. The business model is ragebait and shit-stirring to get people ringing up.
