Definitely a push to destabilise and distract before the Bournemouth game. But could also be true too.

Interestingly, Sky Sports still holding off putting it up on the yellow scroll. Biggest 'news' in years and they are holding off.

Pep and the club have now been put in a position one way or the other to have to react to it tomorrow, and it will dominate the chat around the game.
 
If it’s true, and I think it probably is, I’m surprisingly at ease about it.

Of course it’s sad but nothing lasts forever. He had to go at some point. We won 2 cups this year and ended up giving the league a better crack than we expected early on. Given the squad is nowhere near the heady heights of that treble season, it’s a reasonable time to go if he’s had enough.

We should never underestimate the personal toll it has taken on him (remember the famous scratched-head interview, etc.)

Nothing will ever take away the times we’ve had. I am 41 now and have seen some dogshit down the years, and then some highs we never would have ever thought possible during those doldrum years. That Real Madrid 4-0 at home - I doubt I will ever see a City performance like that ever again in my life. Pep has given this club things we thought we could only dream of. If this is his time, then it’s a punch in the gut but also fair enough.

I’m also quite easy about Maresca tbh. I’m not going to judge him too much on Chelsea - considering the basket case of a club he was dealing with at the time, if anything I think he overachieved there. Whoever it is will be “not Pep” - let’s give them a chance and, as others have said, not do a United post-Ferguson.

Surely City have to just announce this tomorrow now instead of their plan to do it Sunday. They can't expect Pep to keep lying when he's asked again and again tomorrow evening.

No, he’s just played media so as not to distract as much as possible.

1 year was always a possibility and no doubt the club have known this was on the cards.

I think he decided a cup double was big enough to go out on.

Enzo was probably willing to accept it on a conditional basis whereas others might not.

Will be a come down from Pep, but it was always going to be.

Go back 10 years and he would have already gone.

The North Stand will now be known as the Pep Guardiola stand.

Yeah when he said it was down to him to decide it was obvious. I mean an announcement should of happened forget this title run in the 3-3 draw hit us hard enough.
