Saturday morning would have been worse. Think back to that Cup Final in 2013, we found out in the car on the way down Mancini was going, took everything out of the day.

This is true. Should they get it over the line they will be pig sick at the lack of attention it gets. It wasn’t going to be big for anyone but them anyway as nobody can stand them, but Pep going will trump it in the news - and then it’s the World Cup.

If there is to be a celebration of him on Monday it had to come out at some point and time is running out. It seems that Pep and the club knew as early as February so they were free to announce it at a time that better suited them.
Besides there has been huge noise around this for months anyway and many of us knew he was going anyway.
