Nah. We didn’t win tonight because we were absolutely knackered and Bournemouth were well up for it, had rested for 10 days and played a great game

There was nothing wrong with the teams attitude and demeanour

Ultimately it’s been an open secret for ages and the media were just waiting on an confirmation to publish, that’s why all the long articles came out so soon Sam Lee has openly spoke about his preparation for months. It’s possible that Holt jumped the gun and lied about it being leaked by a sponsor to justify it. It could be that Pep and the club haven’t decided yet, maybe all along Pep has been truthful with his statements about having one more year, maybe a domestic double isn’t a high enough to go out on
For me if the rumours are true then post match would have been the time to make a quick statement saying that Pep’s last game is Sunday the club will be making and offcial announcement in due course thank you and good night Saying he has to speak to his chairman as though he doesn’t know seems strange unless that’s true

first half was more than just tiredness - there was a flatness that spoke to the circus of the past 24 hours.
 
just reading the quotes from Pep, whole situation is fucking odd.

I can half understand toeing the party line when a title was on the cards but now it’s done and he’s still doubling down on his contract, what is going on?

Does he genuinely not know what he’s going to do? And so the club out of respect for him are going to let him decide but have in the meantime secured Maresca. Then on Sunday when Pep gets on the mic for a speech he will just say what he feels. If he stays then we give Maresca a pay off for his time and Pep stays. Re-evaluate next year

I genuinely think after pep’s presser that he is conflicted. Let him take his time. The media have Hijacked his decision. That is totally unacceptable. Hounded him the cunts. So leave him and khaldoon to it. The rest can fuck off.

Spot on and they had a European place to play for and their manager’s last home game massive incentive A win could have meant a UCL spot and definitely if Villa win Europa and finish 5th
 
I feel so annoyed that every other legendary manager of every other club has been allowed to leave on their own terms without the decision being pre-empted by the media. they just couldn't help themselves with city, and for what?

I’m concerned at the lack of commitment either way in his statement. There was no denial and that is my concern. If he was planning on staying, I’m sure he would have said so.

Again, legalities are likely preventing him.
 
The fucking scenes if he decides he’s staying. Arsenal winning the league will be forgotten about instantly.
He’s the best thing that’s ever happened to us. He can do what he wants, it won’t change a thing - what he has given to this club won’t be replicated by anyone, anywhere, ever again. If it’s the end it’s been some journey.

I would love for him to extend his contract for two years, until 2029, with a secret clause (that only Khaldoon Al Mubarak will know about) allowing him to leave at the end of next season if he wishes.

That way he'll make a fool of all the media outlets that announced his departure, and he'll reap the rewards of the rebuilding he started this season.

This team only needs two or three players to dominate the Premier League again.

He’s said he needs to speak to the chairman and that he’s concentrated on the team they will speak about everything and then they decide
The issue here is the media has smelt something and have been tying to force it. The club will not bow to the pressure, they will go through their process, at their pace, and make whatever announcement in due course when it’s decided, until then there is nothing to say Maybe they say nothing any how because he’s honouring his contract which doesn’t need to be announced
 
Khaldoon and Sheikh Mansour will want answers on how a couple of media reporters broke the news yesterday that Pep is leaving. City owners have been very closed-door about this sort of thing; neither would like how this leaked if true about Pep leaving and somebody else got to know before them

I will say this is not Pep or City's style. The club and Pep will 100% know what is happening in the summer, it would have been about 6 months ago that talks happened. That's how football works, you don't just leave the club like this without plans for next season's team of players, coaches and manager already in place,

If Pep has changed his mind in the past couple of days and is leaving, then it's pretty poor of him to leave it so late
It sounds like something has changed if Pep is speaking Khaldoon and Sheikh Mansour in the next couple of days


The one thing that I hope doesn't happen is when Pep leaves, the in-house fighting happens ? The New manager has to be given the same control of all the football side of things, just like Pep had

The director of football and the board can not get in between the players and the new manager. The new manager has to pick and choose his players and coaches

I feel like it's more of him wanting to say a goodbye to the club on a proper platform rather than on fucking Sky of all places.
