Will we win the league this season? No

It was a laugh that boiled Arsenal fans piss but had absolutely no bearing - and certainly wasn't any inspiration / motivation - on Arsenal winning the league.
They came top so won it, but their performances since the "bottle" incident were hardly sensational. Lost to City, turgid home performances scraping wins and of course, the West Ham incident.
City on the other hand fucked up over a self destructed 15 mins at Everton and last night appeared to be one game too far over a short period of time (against a club with everything to play for).
For me the "bottle" incident in hindsight came back to bite but at its moment had the whole country laughing - apart from the Tarquin's who were livid and for that it was worth it.
I agree.. my concern with behaviour like that though is opposition fans don’t look at that and say “there’s a stupid single City fan”, unfortunately it sort of besmirches us all.

Got pelters for this but I was right.
You weren't right. You give the banter out when you can and you take the banter back when it's your turn to get it. It was a bit of fun. It didn't cost us the title. I bet you found the 'Welcome To Manchester' poster cringeworthy as well

What a fucking joyless life you must lead.

Ooh I've got your goat up at the moment haven't I? Got anymore catchy derisory nicknames for the greatest manager in our history? We've had the "Spanish Stuart Pearce" and the "Catalan Mark Hughes". What next, the Mediterranean Mel Machin? The Iberian Jimmy Frizzell? The Barcelona John Benson?

Challengers next season? :

* arsenal - will still be up there, might sign creative players and play more football or continue as this season
* liverpool - Slot will still be in charge at the start but if they don't start well he will be sacked - based on the current squad probably not doing anything
* rags - pains me to say but they look alright under Carrick but not enough to actually challenge for the title + the usual second season syndrome they have there
* chelsea - possible that they might do something, certainly over the next few years, if they keep alonso

Arsenal I think, unless they change the rules over wrestling at corners

If Liverpool sack Slot, which I think they will, they'll be back challenging.

How do you know that? It's not normal but not unprecedented for a successor to come in and do the same or better than his predecessor.
I don't "know" that, nobody does. But Pep's record with title races is extraordinary and for someone to better it would be extremely hard, as you admitted "not normal".

Be interesting to see how arsenal go forward after this, and a potential CL win. Who they sign etc. They’ll be up there.

I can’t see it with rags. I think they’ll sink with the CL and Carrick will end up jobless by Xmas.

Liverpool could be one to watch. He’s survived this now and if Wirtz et al get their second season wings, could be up there.

Chelsea I just cannot tell what they’ll do. A total cluster fuck.

Villa might push on more.

Come may though it won’t matter, as we will be kings once more.

People tried telling me this prick wouldn't inspire Arsenal's players in some way. Lol.

Absolute cobblers. "Besmirches us all"? It's football not a church committee meeting. You really do take the hate chanting to ridiculous lengths It was good fun and are you really bothered about people with plummy accents and really ever so nice manners sitting there raging that " this just isn't done at the best garden parties".

Lots of pics on social media of Arsenal players on the town last night and in every picture there's a player with the Arsenal plastic bottle reprising that pose.

Whether it made a difference who knows but it for sure seemed to add more motivation to the team.
