These European trophies have been massively devalued since their heyday as the European Cup Winners’ Cup and UEFA Cup. In their day, they were proper trophies with proper top teams in them.

Now even the Champions League has teams in it that would be nowhere near European football in the 1970s.

Outrageous to me that you could be the Champions of Europe while not even being the champion of your domestic league

I remember watching the ‘82 European final as a kid which Villa won on one of the 3 available channels in those days!

A neighbour took me to Wythenshawe on the 105 as somebody she knew there was fiddling the catalogue so you could pick what you wanted for 1/2 price.
