Pep to leave at the end of the season

Same here. Confirming it today has hit me like a ton of bricks. The music to the video didn't help either. The way he expressed his love for the City of Manchester says everything about the man.
 
Many years ago, I would've never expected the famed and esteemed prodigy in Barcelona's dugout to one day be manager of Manchester City.

Fast forward more than a decade later, and he has given us the gloriest of days that will likely not be topped for a long while, possibly never. It'll be hard getting used to not seeing him in our dugout.

There's not enough words to describe the gratitude I have for him.

Truly the greatest manager in Manchester City history. The greatest football manager in the world. Thank you Pep.
 
Absolutely devastated despite knowing it was coming. Just doesn't feel like the right time to leave, he had to leave in a season of glory it's the only fitting way to go after unprecedented greatness. Would be so much easier to take if he went out as reigning champions.

Likely whatever the hell he wants. More of a keep him busy role so he isn't tempted to go back into club management elsewhere. International i can take but I'll be heartbroken if we ever see him in charge of another club.

He embraced everything about Manchester because, like Bernardo, he lived centrally ..... I was talking to Bernardo near M&S one day, and Pep in the northern quarter after he'd filmed a shop commercial .... the two of them just totally embraced the local population and city.

Its v v rare in football, or indeed in life actually, where one can remove themselves from the firing line (and lets face it, thats what football management is in this world), and yet be universally met with "yeah ok, you did your job mate, way way beyond what we had even dreamed of tbh". What an era, what a manager. I for one salute you Mr Guardiola, you made my day to day life, happier, you made it joyful, you made me cry with the greatest of feelings. Do whatever the fuck you want forever more, i shall always salute you. You were,are and always be the exact reason we are all in this forum, you are why we love football.. All the arguments, fallings out, the hope, the pain, we do it for one reason, we do it in hope that one day we will win. And you gave us that day. You won mate, you did it. We love you, always.
 
He joined City as the most sought after manager, 10 years later his reputation has only grown.

For anyone who still think he is not the greatest, I'll give you a simple stat.
17 years in top flight management in the biggest clubs, and not sacked once.

Maybe the original plan was for him to leave in the summer of 2025, but the dire situation we ended up in before Christmas 2024 meant that he felt obligated to at least put the City team on the right track again before departing. Guillem Balague said Pep wanted to leave years ago. Afiak, he's supposed to be pretty close to Pep.


We should all be eternally grateful.
 
Considering the state of football in the PL this year and how it's been officiated, I'm not surprised he's called it a day - if he stayed the extra year he would have been banned from the touchline for most of it!
