Rumored interest. Would be a handy backup but at his age would he really be keen to play second fiddle? £50M also too much for me given his role.

So we are ripping them off for Savinho and like a good samaritan getting ripped for Porro for a stupid 50 million fee. Thats 35 million more expensive.

From what I can see, Porro is Spurs’ only designated right back, and in his absence they’ve used Archie Gray and Djed Spence to deputise. Maybe Spurs had more interest in Palestra than we ever did.

He he signs it won't be as back up, most likely.

We can be impressed with Nunes, but not every manager has a Pep style of fitting one position in to cover another, there is no reason to expect Maresca will play Nunes at RB despite how well he has covered it.

Personally not sure we need him or for the fee we cannot find better

Exactly! Maresca may just want a proper RB? Viana knows Porro as well and he done great at Sporting and lets be honest, Spurs have been a shit show the last 2-3 seasons so not fair to judge him on that? It seems we want ready made if this is true and players who can hit the ground running that know the league this summer. Still want Palestra personally but Porro has pace , power and has a great delivery from crosses.

what i've seen from Chelsea games. I can see theory for acquiring Porro. Maresca is dead set with setting up an attacking inverted fullback

always thought he was similar to Cancelo, decent going forward and puts in a good cross but poor defensive, more like a wingback

Porro has four seasons in England under his belt, and he’ll also have played with Nunes as well when at Sporting. Much is made of squad depth, but I would say the important thing is versatility. Porro and Ait-Nouri can play in different ways, and Nunes and O’Reilly also have the power and physicality to tuck in and solidify midfield.

Our best chance of doing well in Europe again is to get out ahead in the League, really dominate games 1-24 (up to January’s close- we dropped 22 of those points last year), and then carefully manage the second half of the season so that we can still remain fresh in the knockout stages. Adding more League-proven gives us a better chance of achieving that.

Nunes was one of our most reliable high performers next season plus Khus can play there, I’d spend the money elsewhere personally
Can understand that, but Nunes played over 4,000 minutes last season, which is simply unsustainable, and while Khusanov and Lewis could deputise, each has his weaknesses.

In recent years, our entire right-hand side has often been held together by Bernardo Silva, whose selflessness and intelligence has plugged gaps and covered for others’ deficiencies. It therefore makes sense to strengthen that side now before his absence is felt even more keenly.

Porro is considerably better than Lewis as well.
