Raheem Sterling arrested after drug driving crash

Class C, so probably laughing gas then? If guilty, there are zero excuses for it. mental health problems aren't an excuse for being an irresponsible dick. doing something that puts yourself in danger is sad and i can feel sympathetic to that, doing something that puts others in danger is inexcusable and you're automatically a class A twat.

sad to read.
he was great for us for a while.

unless he's spunked it, he must be a multimillionaire.
what's wrong with having a driver/chauffeur?
they aren't all that expensive,
then you can neck whatever you like.

Cant justify behaviour like this. No excuses for him.

With that said, it is sadly a common story. Young working class lad sprung into a huge spotlight, reaches dizzying heights in competition, is celebrated by thousands/millions, then when the spotlight moves away where does it leave them?

Ricky Hatton, Conor Mcgregor come to mind... I'm sure sharper minds cam remember a much longer list. Doesn't happen to everyone, but it's a pretty familiar story.

Can't justify decisions these guys make. But to ignore that it is a such a common story would also be silly. Like reading about a house burning down and saying "fire is a stupid idiot" ... rather than thinking about what led to the fire occurring.

Not that this trend is necessarily the explanation for Raheem's case, here! Just seems like a strong hypothesis

As has been noted - when someone is built up to be a superstar and is taught their 'sporting ability' or whatever is all that matters, they naturally put all their self-worth in that. Then when they lose that or are discarded either at the end of their career or - even more devastatingly in this case - have a huge fall from grace in their prime age; it leads to depression and loss of their own value.

Like you say it is no excuse at all - but we forget these players and 'stars' are human beings with their own foibles and insecurities.

Even the idea of the transfer market is crass when you boil it down - buying and selling players like cattle. It's no wonder through adulation and dehumanisation that they experience giant peaks and troughs mentally.

Still no excuse whatsoever for him. But it does make you wonder how much we as the public play a role in making the villain from the hero.

Wanted more game time in the big games especially, moaned sad face left grass wasn’t greener then a massive nose dive of his career! He wasn’t to know his secret weapon was Man City and under Pep!

I read somewhere he's been suffering with depression, which is hardly surprising given the spotlight he's been under from an early age.

He's done himself no favours, but the media have been hounding him for years waiting for him to fuck up, which he has done spectacularly this time.
That's no excuse. Beckham (odious individual that he is) was pretty much hung, drawn and quartered by the media and the great unwashed after his red card at the World Cup in '98. To the best of my knowledge, he never resorted to cuntish antics like this.

I remember being bombarded with critiscm when discussing the video of Grealish showing him shoeless , pissed and crashing his car a couple of times, he got away without any conviction.
So I hope anyone going in big on Sterling were not defending Grealish at the time.

People should wait for the full story, if he has committed a crime he should get the suitable punishment. We don't know the full story yet, wait for the B sample.

Personally just hope that there were no injuries.

Listen before we start pulling the poor sod to bits are we really all good boys/girls who have always stayed within the law ...........and we dont know what demons he is dealing with to get to this point
Dunno about you mate but I've never got doped up to my eyeballs and wrapped my Lamborghini around a tree.
