Champions League Final 2026 | Sat 30th May | Paris Saint-Germain v Arsenal

The praise for arsenal is appaulling. If it's a league 2 side that has just taken a top premier league side to penalties in the 3rd round of the fa cup, you hear that kind of praise, and rightly so.

when you have spent well over a billion pounds on the squad, you cannot be acting like rank outsiders trying to shithouse their way to a win and be praised for it.

Arsenal have the right to do it however they want and their fans can voice their opinions either way but the rest of us want to watch football, pundits praising the complete antithesis of what we want to watch from one of the most expensively assembled squads in world football is part of the problem.

Begrudging acceptance if they pull it off, widespread disapproval if they fail should be the reaction.

The game should never be played like that if you're one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Yeah bizarre what TNT were trying to do, acting like they don't have £1bn net spend under Arteta.

That's why I will always champion technical players who move the ball around and try to play. You can accept losing if you play like that.

To lose a final the way Arsenal have just done, without even trying to play football or win the game is embarrassing to be honest.

Whatever the reservations about the way Arsenal play, that's an awful way to lose. And as much as we dislike Gabriel, he's a great player for them, and I feel sorry for him anyway.
Oh do one mate, he's a great player only because the refs for some reason are terrified to make the right calls against him, he should've had at least 4 red cards this season and shouldn't have even played the final if the refs and VAR did their jobs.

That game actually reminds of Euro 2020/21 final England v Italy, England score early but instead of trying to actually build some pressure and kill the game off at any point, just hope to see the game out.

Whether that was a conscious thing from Arsenal or they just didn’t have the ability to do it I don’t know, but it’s hilarious either way

Although that sounds logical and the premier league now have their tried and tested tool (PGMOL) to swing the balance, I don't believe the rags have got it in them.

Carrick is going to struggle next season, having to play more than once a week. He won't be able to rely on the same eleven playing in their favoured positions.

The honeymoon period is over now between Carrick and the players and the British media won't be able to help themselves; They'll be talking the rags up for the title and the pressure will destroy them.
Almost as good as reading the readers wives section in the porn mags i found in bushes as a kid

When he retires absolutely no one will mention Gabriel in the same breath as the actual greats - Terry, Kompany, Vidic etc

It’s a shame that an English club doesn’t get the rest of the clubs wanting them to win, but I think that’s how disgusted the rest of us were with how they were given the Pl by Pigmol/PL & VAR.
Personally I’m buzzin’ they lost, horrible bunch of self indulgent fans on the whole, especially delighted it was down to Gabriel that they lost as he should’ve missed the end of the season with a red card.
It’s 24 carat irony that they’ve lost on penalties after not conceding one all season in the PL.
What do you mean?

As a MCFC fan I want every other English club playing in any cup competition to lose.

I've never once got behind another English club. I want them all to get battered.

Poor Donna would probbly prefer to be Croatian at this point mate.

I switched the commentators to mute when I heard them use the word illustrious. Not on this final they weren't .

Illustrious means notably or brilliantly outstanding because of dignity, achievements, or actions; it describes someone or something that is well-known and respected.

On the train listening to the commentary as the pens went in. Lots of cheers when he missed.

I'm going to put a nice tune on then go and stuff loads of paper down the toilet.
