Champions League Final 2026 | Sat 30th May | Paris Saint-Germain v Arsenal

I don’t agree the Tarquins are better than us, we’ve played them 3 times and only a late equaliser stopped them losing all 3 games.

As for the best team ever (I know you said club but I’m generalising) I can only go back to the 60’s for comparison but the best performance in World Football was the 1970 Brazil team, never bettered.

The best European performance, in my opinion, AC Milan in the 93/94 European cup final where they humiliated Barca 4-0, they took their foot off the gas about an hour in, they were so dominant. I’ve just looked it up, Milan had Van Basten, Lentini, Baresi, Costacurta, Raducioiu, Papin and Brian Laudrup all missing but still destroyed Barca, phenomenal performance. Pep and Txiki were playing for Barca that night.
Huh? Wtf?

Our side is currently better than PSG?

Dude! Get a grip. Our side failed to win the P/L. And was eliminated from the C/L early on.

I would just like to congratulate both sets of fans.
Those that had a ticket went, turned up on time, found their correct seat and sat in it.
Those that didnt have a ticket didn't try to jib in, steal a ticket from their own fans and sit in someone else's seat, climb over fences or use forged tickets.
Further, those that went didnt fight the locals, push people in fountains, expose themselves, steal hardworking shop keepers property and then claim it wasn't their fault, they were the victims and ring a no win no fee solicitor for 'compo lah'.

Not that im stereotyping of course.

Odd isnt it how its only one set of fans that have trouble with tickets

If they’d just kept their mouths shut stopped diving around in a breath of wind
Stopped ripping players shirts off
Stopped appealing for absolutely everything
Stopped pretending to be injured
Stopped falling on the floor when the other team get a corner
Stop using three players to take a throw in
The manager stopped entering the pitch

I’d still fucking hate em.

Agreed. It would have been the biggest travesty if they had won. Already during the week they were talking about them being the best in Europe for many years and Kroenky coming out and saying they could dominate for years to come, like they're world beaters.

The reality is they only won the title because their only competition was a young team in transition, all the other major teams off the pace, 27 goals from set pieces, NO penalties conceded because Gabriel and co. sit down to get the free kick as soon as the ball comes into the box before there's any chance of conceding anything, time wasting perfected to a fine art, and then the easiest ever route to a CL final and they even scraped their way to get that that far, especially in the semi.

Absolute garbage football, punching above their weight with a huge slice of luck in too many games to mention. I'll put money down now that they don't win the title or get to the CL final next season.
Curmbs, they already need more asterisks than we will...

Best thing apart from them losing was the corner kick at the end of the first half that wasn't allowed to be taken - old school refereeing at its finest.
That was the very moment that my hopes were raised that we might see a different type of match to those we've witnessed in the PL all season long.

I'm usually screaming at City players to just 'get on with it' when we have one late into stoppage time - it's as though no players know the rules, ie that only penalties are guaranteed to be allowed time to be taken.

That and the throw-in time-wasting booking right at the start of the second half - it was as though a conscious decision had been taken and passed onto the ref by UEFA: 'that's enough - this is the showpiece event of our season and it's getting embarrassing!'

It feels we are slowly shifting back into the early 2010s era where the top PL teams will struggle to hold onto their players to Real/Barca/PSG/Bayern. PL as a league is the best, but lack the superstar match winners at the top.

City was the only real team who had the stars in the PL.
You reap what you sow, scudamore’s vision is the PL has a new winner every 6 years, they don’t want the dominance of one team in other European leagues.
Even the most neutral observers would admit Arsenal have been assisted in this season’s win with anti football tactics, dubious set pieces & a fair amount of outright cheating.
The premier league as a spectacle has suffered as a result.
With FFP/PSR limiting spend the last thing PL is to encourage borefest negative tactics. Hopefully next season officials will stamp out the Arsenal set piece tactics
You only have to look at Barcalona’s rumoured targets and spend this summer to see how PSR will limit the number of genuine world class players coming to the PL if I was scudamore I would be more interested in how the PL tackle this than passing the title around

See PSG winning more champs leagues just because there league is shit and there whole mantra of that club will be win the champs leagues every season as there number one target! They can rest players all season to be sharp for the back end of a champs league legs!

If Enrique ever becomes our manager or another top premier manager he will find it as hard as us and other teams it will be to win!

The season turned from very good to excellent .... at about 8pm last night

Those tarquins just can't shake off the well earned tag of 'Bottlers'

It takes more than a VAR / PGMOL league title won by set pieces and cheating against a City team in transition and a Liverpool team that imploded, to shed the nickname

Some tool refused to move from my seat in Istanbul

Every club has its share of wankers

I ended up stood on the concourse at the top of the seating.. I’ve had worse views

“They’re the best team the World’s ever seen,” says Graham of City. “And we’ve seen in the past at Manchester City and at other clubs as well, just spending money doesn’t necessarily get you the best team. It might get you the best team this season, but not the best team in the world for six seasons in a row, or longer. Pep is the best coach on the planet. On the pitch, they are incredible to watch.”

“They are the best side of all time. There is no argument about that. Manchester City don’t even have Lionel Messi and they’re still easily the best. It’s a criminally underrated team.”

Ian Graham (Director of Research at Liverpool F.C.)

PSG is recency bias. They’re very inconsistent. They’re probably the best right now but not by much. Best side ever? Give me a break.

My opinion…

1. Barca 2011
2. Bayern 2014
3. City 2023
4. Real Madrid 2014
5. Brazil 1970
Going to be controversial here (yeah, I know; very unlike me!). But if I was to pick the better team to watch, and not necessarily the better team results wise, between the Centurions and the Treble team, I think I'd go for the former. Yes; the latter won the ultimate test (the CL; not much gets past me) and became only the second English team to win the treble, but the 17/18 team were an utter joy to watch. The 22/23 side simply had a dogged determination not to lose. Although, IIRC, the first half of that season was so-so.. It was in the new year that they really took off.
