First he probably is appointed, second appointing him will have nothing to do with negotiating transfers.It seem likely to me that City are negotiating some kind of settlement with CFC, otherwise Maresca would be in place. We need to make the appointment to push through transfers. At least there is no bad news in this space so that is something.

Why? Iraola is untried at a major club. Maresca has not only done well in a short time at two big clubs, yes including Leicester, he knows the club inside out and as he was here during our most successful period he knows what is needed. I think it's a superb appointment, we couldn't get anybody better suited to take over a near-impossible position.I hope Pep left because the club learned Iraola would be available and decided to go after him rather than Maresca.

Totally wrong. You still have to get to the final and do what you have to do to gain those trophies. If he wasn't any good they likely wouldn't have got that far.
