Season Card Reservations/Relocations Direct Debit update 11/6

Fair point, however, we don't know how many season cards the Club planned to sell and how close sales are to the elusive figure!
That, and they will have 2 years at least to build a new waiting list, also we don't know how many on the list, didn't buy for whatever reason but want to stay on the list.

Can see the north stand extension being shelved if there is still wide availability.

That's the spirit!

We are likely to have 42,000 plus season ticket holders next season - quite possibly more. Its bloody incredible. I have spent today drafting an investment paper to a major overseas investor in Manchester.

Can I just point out a few things I have learnt today.

7 million people live within one hours drive of Manchester

128,000 more people will live in Manchester City centre by 2025

The Airport development is the largest in the uk since the Olympics in 2012

Manchester hotels have an 80% occupancy

70% of graduates remain in Manchester after graduation - that is currently 154,000

The City and North of England is growing and growing fast - lots and I mean lots of people have not been able to get to games because getting a ticket has been a hassle and expensive. More young people will want to watch us as we win more and have players like Pogpa and Aguero etc etc and be associated with our success.

The stadium even at 62,000 is nowhere near big enough for where we will end up. I remember us playing Millwall at Maine Road and winning 3-0 (Nigel Spink in net for them ) and we had a crowd of 29,000 and thinking where will we get another 19,000 from.

Just 15 years later and we will have an average gate above 53,000 next year. I am very confident that I will (within 10 years) watch City at this stadium in front of regular 70k plus crowds.

Good point blueparrot. The signings we make this Summer can help to build the Waiting List again.

That said, I am not sure that the Club would be able to sell many more Premium Seats as part of a North Stand expansion, at least in the short to medium term.

My post was not a dig at the club.
IF the rumours above are true and there is still a vast amount of season tickets still not sold then i can fully understand the club not shelling out to increase the capacity by another 7500.
Lets see if your points above are correct as these people will have a much better choice of getting tickets next year on a match to match basis.

Nobody said there was a vast amount left, just good availability. The point is anybody looking may see thousands of available seats, but at least 6000 won't be sold . There is no way of knowing how far we are off reaching the maximum season ticket sales.

They have issue a lot of refunds as a significant amount paid £100 to join the waiting list expecting to be able to buy the cheaper tickets.

The club will need to use a similar incentive to fill a potential North Stand and not offer it to existing season ticket holders to move to a cheaper seat otherwise there will be no chance of filling it.

I think the point @worsleyweb made that has been overlooked is that supporters said its a hassle getting tickets on a match by match basis, as has been shown by the number that have decided to by seasoncards instead

All of the cheap seat tickets didn't sell out from existing seasoncard holders which, I would suggest, means that should a new stand be built the people wanting the cheap seats from existing card holders will have gone, allowing more for newcomers

There won't be a vast number of season cards left unsold. More likely is that the Club saw the strong demand with 10,000 on the Waiting List and half the Blues staying in Premium ticket areas and adopted a flexible approach. The Club may have chosen to sell more season cards than originally planned to increase revenue - given that a lot of the cheaper seats got sold first!

Are you surprised that there is 'Good availability' still left then for season tickets ?
Because i for one am based that the original proposal was to build a further 7500 seats in the north stand.

No what I'm saying is there is plenty of seats to choose from for anybody buying a s/c. But there may only be a few hundred season tickets left to sell as a few thousand of those available seats will be kept back for match day sales.
A

IMHO, that would have been the original plan but the Club had to adapt when so many Blues moved to cheaper seats! 10k to 12k would have left too many expensive seats to sell!

Why would the club want 10-12000 available seats. If you consider we have 36,500 plus season ticket holder for smaller games we struggle to shift the 6000 available prior to increasing the season ticket number which will further reduce the market.

Not really. Some areas of the ground were always going to be more popular due to price or the quality of view. It's hard to really know anything when we don't know how many we wanted to sell or how many we have sold. I think it's great that anyone that wanted to buy, has had the opportunity but there will be always have to be a good few thousand available for match day sales.

Expensive seats are the very type of seats the club want available

Corporate packages are big business

And there will be plenty of Premium Seats to shift if the North Stand expansion gets the go ahead. I was thinking more of seats at the top of the East and Colin Bell stands where we wouldn't have a surplus of blues queuing up to pay 50 odd quid for a mediocre view!
