When you have the money it really isn't that big of a deal.Should we prepared to pay £5m more than all of our targets are worth just in case one of them comes good?

We made a loss last year. And will continue to make losses if we have that attitude. When you have the money it really isn't that big of a deal.
think city will be quick to announce sterling as soon as it done ? given the delph gaffe , though as ric said it was delph who changed his mind last minute
All i'm saying is if Sterling is a player the club want desperately then an extra 5 million is nothing to secure it. Obviously you wouldn't do it with every player.
And I disagree. Superb talent who's home grown and is still only 20 years of age.And I wouldn't do it with Sterling. Over-hyped by far imho.
You honestlyWe can't pay 50m to just get him if we value him as less.
He is not worth 50m IMO. I hope we stick to our guns.
Even with Delph alone we are better than last season.
Sterling isn't our only way forward.
We don't like being called a Sugar Daddy club, and expect to be taken seriously.Lets parade the balance sheet

When you go for the really big fish.......it takes time!Huge pressure on Txiki as we speak I expect.
Less than 1 month until the start of the season, Chelsea 2nd game and absolutely no-one through the door.
Not a flap, just a reality. If - for whatever reason - we fail in any other of our rather slow, rather public courtships except Pogba (which was always 50/50), I excpect his head will be on the block.

Equally though, you could argue that walking away from this deal shows that we can be frightened away from top targets. Wolfsburg and Juventus have no great desire to sell, so would be encouraged if Liverpool can rebuff our advances. Two sides to every coin.
Not exactly the same scenarios, but Real and Barca met the requested fees when it came to Bale and Suarez. They didn't feel that meeting the asking price made them look a soft touch. They just got the deals done.
