If Tolmie's figures are true then Liverpool have won I'm afraid.

Don't get me wrong I think he'll be a tremendous player for us and I'm very pleased that he's coming but we appear to have
made no real progress in our ability to negotiate in coming transfers from where we were in the Garry Cook days.

They're about to lose their best player and arguably the best player England have produced over the last 10/15 years They're losing him to a team they considered beneath them. The ramifications to this transfer are huge for Liverpool.
In what possible way have Liverpool won?

We offered £30m. They said "Fuck Off we want £50m".

We offered £40m. They said "Fuck Off, you're not listening it's £50m".

We offer £50m. They said "Done Deal".

As I keep saying I'm glad we signed him but we could have signed him on day one without
all the mither and bad publicity.
Behave...this was always going to be a media circus/face saving exercise.

Liverpool fan here. Gutted to see him go. He's second only to Messi in being able to receive the ball and beat anyone in tight spaces. Imo he has the potential to be England's greatest ever player if he sorts out his finishing. He is genuinely a monster, don't let the last half of last season being played out of position fool you. He has a better record than Messi and Ronaldo at the same age.
Very generous of you.

I hope he manages to retain that speed over the first few yards, and improve his all round game. I don't think we could have made a better forward signing, barring the obvious.

Fuckinell, I think i might give it a go then!

So basically the way it works is, someone says, 'give us 50 million' & you go, 'ok' ?

I can do that !

No you have a limit. If the limit is reached you walk away.

Txiki either was just trying it on, if his limit was £50m or maybe even more, or he folded under the pressure.
I guess we'll never know.

For what it's worth (fuck all really!) I personally would have gone to £40m tops.

This is like signing Owen or Fowler at 20 years old, Sterling's best years will be with us.

The Sterling thread on RAWK is absolutely priceless.

One guy claimed they'll sign Benteke plus another £30 million player with the Sterling money. They're getting £36 million for him. Priceless.

Apparently it's Cherasov or something similiar to that.

That sums up the bigger picture.

Their best player has just left to go to ickkle old City, what does that say about them....it's beautiful

Is he on 200k per week yet?

Can't wait to see him alongside Silva n co but iff we're paying 50m we've made a bit of a balls up. Delph's U-turn can be the only explanation. Sterling isn't a panic buy, obviously, but if we have suddenly stumped up 50m we've clearly panicked due to Delph
