No I mean we should give them fucking time before declaring them ready to be great players. Calm down

First 10 mins reminded me of 2 things (1) game away at bayern a few years ago, 2 clear pens not given in first 10 at nil nil (2) the wrestling that my dad used to watch where the bad guys were allowed to do wtf they wanted to the good guys and the ref let it all go as it was pantomime shit

You talked about people opening up threads 'embarrassing us' talking about our young players. That's not 'give them time'.
Yes it's is. Because it's premature to do so. Hence give them time to prove themselves consistently before hyping them up based on some meaningless friendlies

Fitness is what its all about, nothing more and players on the tour will be given equal amounts of time.

Results mean nothing right now and he already knows what his players are capable of.

The pre season is obviously all about fitness and preparing for the new season and as I said, the result is never important win or lose. An important aspect of pre season however is about exposing and assessing young players and in that respect, I think Pellegrini did not handle the match very well in terms of selection and the mix up of the team. That is the issue I stressed but it obviously has no bearing on the upcoming season and how things will pan out once all the players are all back and ready to go. Also I don't think the players got equal amounts of time but that is not important and Dzeko's inclusion in the team may be an indication of something but I doubt that as well as I think he will leave.

I'd just like to point out for Madrid's 4th goal, that Matic for Chelsea picks up those areas in between the CB's which allows the CB's to spread out and cover saves or pick up runners, we have Fernando who I am Genuinely shocked at how unathletic he is, the lad just isn't up to this standard.

However, it wasn't that bad for a pre-season friendly, probably because my growing love for Sterling is blocking out the negatives, the guys gonna be a star for us. Also very disappointed to see Delph get injured, I wouldn't mind seeing him and Dinho pair up with Yaya in front of them. A world class LB would be a welcomed addition to that set up too.

i totally agree, Denayer was paired with a 16 year old and he's young himself , ffs both of them put together are Demichelis's age. MAdrid played the team that won them the CL , we played a team full of youngsters and second stringers without our best players except for silva. FFs calm down, academy lads are proper talent.

I was impressed very much by both. They are both better footballers than our current defenders & although they have to improve positionally & aerially, they both had moments of very good defending in a ship without a rudder, vs Real Madrid ! Nobody to organise them & Kolarov destroying their defensive line!

Calm down boys it was a friendly against a Madrid team that would probably play in a Champions League final we had 4 players that will be 1st choice starters this season Hart, Yaya, Silva & Sterling. We had 2 kids at CB against the 2nd best attack in world football, We didn't have a recognised striker and we changed Delph for a winger. How did u really think it was going to pan out? It's about fitness & game time at this stage not results.

I know he only played for 18 minutes, but Delph looks twice the player i thought he was.

Reminded me of Barry in the sense that he was constantly looking around, aware of players around him and knew exactly where he was going to pass the ball before it came to him.

Very solid, quite excited about him

friendly yes but I genuinely think fernando and nasri try that same lathargic way in competitive games

Yaya looking pretty sharp. Still never want him in a two man midfield because he can't defend, but at least he looks like he wants to play football at the moment.

Hoping for one last big season from him.

Most sensible post I've read. Thumbs up

I have absolutely no interest in seeing Dzeko, Nasri or Navas playing for city, and Clichy and Kolorov are also equally as poor as each other. A new left back plus KDB and we're sorted IMO

i say play Denayer with a leader like komps or Demi. And he would shine!

This is actually so pointless considering we only started with 2 youth players andboth happened to be CB's and one being 16 and they were alongside Sagna and Kolarov who are hardly Mr dependable + Fernando in front. The most highly praised youngster of this tour didn't even play ( Garcia ) and the other young lads who came on, only got around 20 mins so no need to shit on anyone's parade so soon.

Sterling is a constant threat, so light footed. Him and Aguero will tear teams apart.
Yup. Raheem Sturridge and Suarez front three was quite devastating. With us, it will be slightly different but maybe bony can play the Sturridge part. It will be awesome
