We know the rag press are constantly on about who's gonna be mad to turn down the chance of joining the rags, each and every day, but, aside from a knackered old pig farmer, who else has has actually signed for the scum this window? (Genuine question

A full back from a mid table Serie A side.
A holding mid from a mid table Premier League side who's never been more than a benchwarmer at international level, usually behind a guy that just signed for Crystal Palace.
Some kid from the Eredivisie, good player and his club won the league last year but the real star of that team signed for Newcastle.

The funniest thing about this whole thing is that yesterday when Ed Woody flew to Spain all the media and ragites were saying "Ed means business". What a calamitous Chief Exec he is, missed an open goal here.

"Pedro signed for Chelsea
Mourinho's team reached an agreement with Barcelona for 28 million fixed plus two variables"

Barcelona striker Pedro Rodriguez has traveled to London to close his move to Chelsea, team that could pass medical examination today and tomorrow be presented as new player of the Blues.

According newspaper Marca, the English club have agreed with the club paid 28 million euros plus 2 in incentives for the transfer of the player, who has been authorized by the Catalan club to travel to the British capital, since it has given its approval to the operation.

The azulgrana winger were weeks long still waiting for a solution to their demand, being traded to the Premier League in search of more minutes, as the trident formed by Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez has closed the doors of ownership since the season

On Monday, Ed Woodward, vice president of sports Manchester United, was in the Catalan capital to negotiate the signing of Pedro, but the offer of 25 million euros from the Red Devils was considered insufficient by the entity Barca board.

Barcelona wanted 30 million euros (= his rescisión clause), amd also disagreed with the payment terms offered by the United.

The emergence of Chelsea and their willingness to accept economic demands of Barca has come to also convince the striker, who in a few hours could become a team player that directs Jose Mourinho.

So, that's it then, we may as well concide the title here and now. lol

Whilst I agree on most of your assessments I actually believe Depay is the type, and style, of player who could well be a pretty big success in the Premier League.

Oh, and you forgot "a goalkeeper who spent last season as a backup at a mid table Italian side, and the season before as a backup at a French side".

Couldn't think how to describe the keeper then I remembered a gem from on here: A nutter who could start a fight in an empty room.

Let's see Depay perform in the Premier League first, I've seen him in a rag shirt 3 times so far and twice he's looked like the new Obertan and the only time he's looked decent was against essentially a weak Europa League side. Unlike Wijnaldum who's walked straight into the Barcodes team and played extremely well. I'll give him a bit more time before calling him shit but I'm far from convinced.

I think Depay is going to be their best player in a few more games imo. Looks top quality. I'd have liked if we signed him (to compete with Sterling).

would he improve chelsea?honest assessment required

If Mourinho lets him play further forward than Willian currently plays? Yes, although they'll probably have to bring Ramires or Mikel into central midfield in place of Oscar to make up for the loss in defensive solidity this will create.

If he's asked to play Willian's usual role of right wing back ahead of the right back? No, he won't, he'll face the same problems that Schurrle faced.

Ive never been a huge fan of Pedros and I wasnt remotely concerned when he was being linked with United, nor was I overly excited when we were being linked with him.

It is, however, hilarious how this has panned out. The media were setting it up so they could say that Pedro had snubbed moneybags City to sign for the club he supported when he was in his mothers womb. Instead it has turned out that there was never really any serious interest from City. Theyve worked on the deal for weeks without being able to close it and then Chelsea have just rocked up at the table and said "we will have him" and Pedro cant wait to sign for them. Of course United are now saying they dropped their interest and the media will run with it but anyone with half a brain (discounts most United fans) can see this for what it really is.........................

SNUBBED!!

What will the Daily Bastard Mirror have to say to this. Well done, Chavs?

Ending your interest in Pedro after he has a medical at Chelsea is akin to quitting your job 10 minutes after being sacked.

The best part is all their delusional fans actually lapping it up. Amazing.

Probably, but tbh I would rather have Sterling for 44mil. Double the price but 8 years younger. I know Pedro's won it all put currently I would say Sterling's the better player. Just think about all the shit we got for paying that for Sterling a couple of weeks ago and Chelsea are about to pay 40 million for John Stones. I know which I would rather have.

Can't see how he will improve Chelsea can't even see him playing to be honest. Jose loves William for his work rate Pedro lacks that and he isn't replacing hazard any time soon. Strange signing.
