These are all recognised first teamers that have yet to appear in this season's starting line up.

Our possible Capitol One Cup team, you might say.

Cabba
Zabba
Clichy
DeMichelis
Otamendi
Fernando
Delph
DeBruyne
Nasri
Bony
Iheanacho

It's only when you see it written down, that you realise what a awesom squad we now have

Or heres a crazy thought: How about we play a strong team and stop getting knocked out of the cups early by Championship teams?

It's has to be a mixture of kids and experience... Kelichi, denayer if he stays, Roberts need games

Are we saying that Zab is a back up player for the squad now,I know Sagna had a belting game on Sunday, but surely Zab is first choice RB ?

I think there might be some moved on. I think out of the kids only Nacho will stay for the full season. I think Denayer and Lopes and Roberts will all go out on loan at some stage if we dont move on some of the older guys. I still think MDM might well go in this window. Thats the only 1 I can see. We will get a small fee but why keep a experienced old player on after signing Otamendi and having Kompany and Mangala too. Its a huge call for MP. As Demi has been great for the club.

My team
Willy
Clichy Denayer , Otamendi ( Mangala doesnt deserve to be dropped ) Sagna
Lopes , Delph , Fernando , Nasri
Nacho , Bony

That team is strong and has a good mix of youth and experience.

Why would you suddenly go back to 4-4-2, a formation that didn't work last year? You don't change the entire system just to fit a player in.

The only players you can almost certainly expect to see in the cup are Willy, denayer(if he stays) MDM Lopes (if he stays) and Kelechi. All the rest will depend entirely on who's played what games and how they performed in the lead up to the game. The likes of Nasri, Delph and Fernando are all likely to play but who's to say they won't be considered 1st 11 at that point and in need of a rest?

i want to see the players mentioned, (mainly the youngsters) playing with our best players, i don't want them shoehorned into unfamiliar positions. I want to see Sterling and Silva behind Kelechi so he can get the service Sergio would and show what he's capable of.

At this stage, if I was asked to select a starting 11 for our 3rd round Capital One Cup tie, it would be as follows:-

Caballero
Maffeo
Demichelis
Denayer
Clichy
Fernando
Delph
Nasri
Zuculini
Lopes
Iheanacho

If Denayer goes out on loan, which I suspect he will, then I'd probably play someone like Humphreys alongside Demichelis.

The bench could be loaded with EDS players such as Evans, Barker, Pozo, Celina, Bytyqi, Ambrose, Garcia etc

Didn't Bony start at West Brom, or am I having a brain fart?

My starting XI vs Sunderland:

Caballero

Maffeo, Otamendi, Demichelis, Kolarov

Fernando, Garcia

Navas, Nasri, Roberts

Ihenacho

Not too shabby considering our injury list at the moment.

Caballero

Maffeo, Otamendi, Mangala, Kolarov

Fernando, Demichelis

Navas, Ihenacho , Nasri

Bony

Then start Otamendi in the next PL game over Mangala.
